2026 FIFA World Cup: Over 150 Million Tickets Requested In Record 15 Days

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced the number of ticket requests received for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The tournament, taking place from June 11th to July 19th, 2026, will be hosted across 16 cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Fans have been registering for tickets in recent months, hoping to get a chance to attend the major sporting event.

FIFA reports a record-breaking demand for World Cup tickets! In just 15 days, they’ve received requests for over 150 million tickets – averaging 10 million requests per day, according to a recent post from Gianni Infantino on Instagram.

The incredible demand for tickets means the upcoming World Cup has received 30 times more requests than available tickets, with fans from over 200 countries eager to attend.

The FIFA president pointed out that the 150 million requests for tickets would cover the equivalent of 300 years of World Cup games.

Infantino described the fan reaction as incredibly enthusiastic and a clear sign of how much people around the world love football. He stated that the upcoming tournament will be a historic event in North America, bringing people together in a celebration of unity and the sport.

The initial ticket sales period ends on January 13, 2026, at 11 a.m. Eastern Time. After that, tickets will be distributed randomly. More sales opportunities will be available later, so not all tickets will be assigned immediately.
