Hazelight Studios continues to improve with each game they release, and Split Fiction is their most impressive creation so far.
I’m seriously impressed with this game! The developers have really focused on two-player co-op again, and it’s paid off big time. It’s just so creative and innovative – honestly, after playing, I’m wondering how anyone can come up with anything new after this! It’s a truly imaginative experience.
Playing this game with a friend is a wild, exciting experience that fully embraces its video game nature. It doesn’t bother with a serious story or complex drama, instead focusing on incredible variety and constantly delivering fun, cooperative gameplay. And that’s a trade-off we gladly accept.
Honestly, the sheer variety in this game is amazing, but what really blew me away was how polished everything is. Seriously, whether I was speeding through a motorcycle chase, doing something totally ridiculous like shooting rainbows as a pig, or battling a massive dragon, every single moment felt incredibly well-made and refined. It’s just… impressive!
The game features straightforward and consistent controls, which remain familiar no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Even as the setting and gameplay change, you’ll always know how to move and act.
The game is consistently fun and interesting thanks to its quick pace and constant stream of new ideas, but the ending is truly exceptional. We won’t give anything away, but it’s a fantastic surprise that cleverly subverts your expectations and delivers a memorable climax.
Split Fiction is a blast to play, making it one of the most fun and creative games of 2025 – you and a friend are sure to have a memorable time with it.
