Zawe Ashton Gives Birth, Welcomes Baby No. 2 With Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston and ZaweAshton have marvelous news.

The actor, known for their role in Loki, recently announced the birth of their second child in a GQ magazine article published on December 30th.

Tom hasn’t shared the name or gender of his new baby, but he did announce that Zawe recently gave birth, just before his sister had a baby as well. He described the experience of becoming a father as incredibly powerful and life-changing.

Tom and Zawe, who had their first child in 2022, announced they are expecting another baby to Vogue magazine. The news came just before the London premiere of Tom’s film, The Life of Chuck, on June 7th. At the premiere, Zawe showed off her growing belly in a stunning light-blue ruffled dress by designer Emilia Wickstead.

The Marvels actress shared that she felt fortunate to be collaborating with a familiar face who has always supported her, especially during this important moment of choosing a red-carpet outfit. She explained that being pregnant can make a woman feel vulnerable, and she appreciated having someone she trusted to help her feel secure on the red carpet.

Zawe and Tom, who are both in their 40s, generally keep their family life private—they haven’t revealed their first child’s name, for example—but they do occasionally share sweet messages publicly about each other.

During his acceptance speech at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, The Night Manager star lovingly thanked Zawe, saying, “I couldn’t have done any of this without you.” He also expressed gratitude for her constant love and support.

Tom, known for his role as Loki in Marvel movies, was quick to compliment his co-star when she became part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Dar-Benn.

Tom revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2023 that his wife is in The Marvels, and he expressed how proud he is of her.

The Avengers alum offered some marvelous advice from one villain to another.  

Oh my gosh, Zawe shared the sweetest thing! She told Entertainment Weekly that Chadwick said, and I’m quoting because it’s just everything, ‘What you put into Marvel, you get back.’ Seriously, he believed if you went in wanting to make the fans happy and just worked really hard, you’d have the best time on set. He just… he really made me feel like I could do anything, and that’s how he treated everyone, apparently. It’s just so him, you know?

Rumors began swirling about an engagement between Zawe and Tom when Zawe was seen wearing a diamond ring on her left hand at the 2022 BAFTA Awards. Tom later confirmed they were engaged, telling the Los Angeles Times in June 2022 that he was “very happy.”
