Queen Camilla Details Feeling “Furious” After Attack on Train as Teen

Queen Camilla is breaking her silence on a terrifying incident from her youth.

In a recent interview with the BBC’s John Hunt and his daughter Amy, 78-year-old John Hunt spoke publicly for the first time about being assaulted. This conversation took place over a year after his wife, Carol Hunt, and daughters, Hannah and Louise Hunt, were tragically murdered by Louise’s former partner.

Camilla shared in a recent BBC Radio 4 interview that she was attacked on a train when she was a teenager. She said she had largely forgotten the incident, but remembered feeling very angry at the time.

She then went on to describe the randomness of the attack.

Queen Camilla recounted to Jeremy Hunt, former Prime Minister Theresa May, and Emma Barnett that she was once attacked by a stranger while reading. She explained that she defended herself, and later, her mother noticed she looked disheveled – her hair was sticking up and a button was missing from her coat – after she got off the train.

Even after all these years, I still feel the impact of that experience. It wasn’t just fear, surprisingly. I was actually incredibly angry – furious, really – and that anger stayed with me, simmering beneath the surface for a long time. It’s amazing how trauma can manifest in unexpected ways, and how long those feelings can linger.

Camilla was deeply moved by John and Amy’s willingness to share their family’s heartbreaking story, hoping it would help prevent others from experiencing the same tragedy.

She explained that hearing a story like John and Amy’s, especially when the topic of domestic abuse is being discussed, really hits home for her because she cares deeply about the issue.

Amy praised Camilla for being open about her experiences, saying it’s difficult to share personal stories because every woman has one.

In March, Kyle Clifford was sentenced to life in prison after admitting to the June 2024 crossbow murders of Carol, Hannah, and Louise at their home in Hertfordshire, England. His guilty plea came more than six months after the tragic event.

Amy and John are choosing to focus on the lives of those they’ve lost, rather than the circumstances of their deaths.

Amy stressed that while their passing was tragic, they lived a truly happy and fulfilling life, filled with love, joy, and fun.

Following Prince Andrew’s decision to step down as Duke of York, King Charles III announced that he would also remove his brother from his home at Royal Lodge and revoke his title as Prince.

Buckingham Palace announced today that King Charles has begun the official steps to strip Prince Andrew of his royal titles and honors. He will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III, has announced he will no longer use the title Duke of York. This decision comes amid ongoing public concern about his association with the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.

After talking with The King and my family, I’ve decided the ongoing accusations against me are taking attention away from the important work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” Andrew said in a statement. “As I’ve always done, I’m prioritizing my family and country. Therefore, I stand by my decision from five years ago to step back from public duties.”

After a lot of consideration, and with the King’s blessing, I’ve made the difficult decision to step down. That means I’ll no longer be using my title or any of the honors I’ve received. As I’ve stated before, I absolutely deny any wrongdoing. It’s time for me to move forward and focus on clearing my name.

He doesn’t foresee returning to the U.K. with his family anytime soon. He expressed sadness at the thought of his children never getting to know his home country.

Honestly, it all comes down to my dad, you know? He’s got so much power and influence here. He could fix everything, but not by jumping in and taking over! He just needs to… let go, really. Step back and let the people who know what they’re doing handle it. It’s like, he doesn’t even need to do anything, just let them work! It’s so frustrating that he doesn’t see that’s all it takes.

After years of fighting, he’s now seeking peace and a chance to make amends. He explained, “Life is too short, and my father doesn’t have much time left.”
