Prince William and Kate Middleton had a royally exciting 2025. 

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared new photos offering a look back at their activities and experiences throughout the year.

As they put it, in the caption of the Dec. 30 Instagram post, “Some unseen favourites from 2025.”

The photos showed Prince William and Kate starting with their participation in Holocaust Memorial Day in January, where they lit candles at a service in London. This year’s event also commemorated the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp.

The next month, Kate visited HMP Styal, a women’s prison, to speak with current and former inmates. These women had received help from Action for Children, a charity Kate supports as a royal patron.

Kate attended the Irish Guards St. Patrick’s Day Parade on her own in March. Then, in April, she and William – parents to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 – spent time together visiting the Isles of Mull and Iona, where they met with local communities and enjoyed the natural surroundings.

As a royal watcher, it’s been lovely seeing the Prince of Wales really connect with his sons! In May, I spotted William and George enjoying a special day out, chatting with veterans to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Then, in June, the whole family – a beautiful sight, truly – turned out for the Trooping the Colour parade. It’s moments like these that really showcase their family bond and dedication to service.

During the men’s Wimbledon final, Kate, William, George, and Charlotte were seen reacting to the exciting match. Afterwards, the Duchess of Rothesay presented the winner, Jannik Sinner, with the trophy.

While Prince William and Kate Middleton generally focus on their royal duties, William took some time for fun in November, enjoying a volleyball game on the beach in preparation for the 2025 Earthshot Prize in Brazil. He finished the year on a high note, happily sharing beers with soldiers at the Welsh Guard’s Christmas celebration.

2025 held special meaning for Kate as she shared the wonderful news that her cancer was in remission. This came after she was diagnosed in March 2024, and she spent the year focusing on getting better and looking back on a challenging time.

Anyone who’s faced a cancer diagnosis understands it takes time to adapt to life afterward. I’m optimistic about the year ahead and grateful for all the support I’ve received. There’s a lot to be hopeful for.

Camilla recently revealed on BBC Radio 4’s Today program that she was attacked on a train when she was a teenager. She said she had largely forgotten the incident, but remembered feeling incredibly angry at the time.

She revealed the perpetrator was a stranger.

Camilla, speaking with BBC’s John Hunt and his daughter Amy about gender-based violence, recounted a personal experience. She described being attacked by a stranger while reading on a train, and how she defended herself. She vividly remembers her mother noticing the aftermath – her disheveled hair and a missing button on her coat – when she arrived home.

She explained that after the attack, she didn’t feel fear, but intense anger. That fury stayed with her for a long time.

 

Following Prince Andrew’s decision to step down from using his Duke of York title, King Charles III announced that his brother would also lose his home at Royal Lodge and no longer be known as a Prince.

Buckingham Palace announced today that King Charles has begun the official process of stripping Prince Andrew of his royal titles and honors. He will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

As a long-time follower of the Royal Family, I was saddened to hear that Prince Andrew has decided to step back from using his Duke of York title. It’s clear this decision comes after a lot of scrutiny surrounding his connection to Jeffrey Epstein, and he’s likely doing what he feels is best given the ongoing controversy. It’s a difficult situation for everyone involved, and I respect his choice to address it in this way.

“In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” Andrew said in the statement released by Buckingham Palace. “I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.”

Andrew stated that, with the King’s approval, he was taking things a step further. He would be giving up his royal title and any honors he’d received. He also reiterated that he strongly denied the allegations made against him.

 

In October 2025, the King and his oldest son attended the Countdown to COP30 event at the Natural History Museum in London.

The couple took photos outside the museum and then went inside to discuss climate change solutions with government officials and activists. This meeting was held before the COP30 World Leaders Summit in Belém, Brazil, in November, which Prince William will attend as a representative for his father.

I was shocked to learn that the emails were actually written after Epstein threatened her. It really puts everything into perspective and explains why she might have acted the way she did.

After a 19-month absence, Prince Harry was spotted arriving at Clarence House—the King’s home in London—apparently to visit his father before attending another event in the city.

Harry arrived at the house around 5:20 p.m. on September 10th, but Charles had come back just a few hours earlier.

Princess Anne’s son and his girlfriend, Harriet Sperling, announced their engagement on August 1st. They had been dating for over a year. His father is Mark Phillips.

The couple’s representative told Hello! magazine that both families were told about the engagement at the same time and were very happy about it.

I was so thrilled to learn that Her Majesty received an honorary title from the Royal Navy just before her 78th birthday! She’s now a Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom, and it’s a wonderful recognition of her long-standing support of the armed forces. It really warmed my heart to see her honored in this way.

Camilla is the first woman to receive this honorary title. It’s awarded only by the monarch—in this case, her husband, King Charles III—based on a recommendation from the First Sea Lord, currently Sir Gwyn Jenkins.

Oh my gosh, I was SO excited to see Princess Kate at Royal Ascot today, I’d been planning my outfit for weeks! But then, I just saw the news… she actually cancelled her appearance just hours before she was supposed to be there! Kensington Palace confirmed it to NBC News, and honestly, I’m devastated. I was really looking forward to seeing her back at the races, and now… well, it just feels like something’s missing. I’m so worried about her!

The palace says Kate was sad to miss the event, but she’s still working out how to manage her public appearances as she recovers from cancer.

As a long-time follower of Prince Harry, I was saddened to learn his legal battle for extra security finally concluded on May 2nd with the courts dismissing his case. It’s been over a year since the High Court initially refused his request through the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, and it seems he’s exhausted all legal avenues.

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stopped being full-time working royals in 2021 and moved to the US, their security arrangements changed. However, Harry continued to request security protection during his visits back to the United Kingdom in the following years.

Prince Harry told the BBC on May 2nd that he was deeply upset by the outcome of his recent legal fight. He stated that he doesn’t foresee returning to the UK with his wife and children anytime soon.

In an interview with the BBC on May 2nd, Prince Harry said his father, King Charles III, isn’t currently speaking to him due to disagreements about security. However, he expressed hope that they could repair their relationship.

Prince Harry said he wants to repair his relationship with his family, including his father, but it’s up to his dad to make the first move. He shares two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with Meghan.

He doesn’t foresee returning to the U.K. with his family anytime soon. He expressed sadness at the thought of his children not getting to know his home country.

More than a year after revealing his cancer diagnosis, King Charles wrote on April 29th that going through treatment has highlighted the kindness and strength he’s seen in people.

In a booklet offering support to cancer patients and their families, Charles wrote that facing a diagnosis is understandably scary. However, speaking from personal experience, he also believes it can reveal incredible kindness and strength in people.

He expressed gratitude to the healthcare workers who cared for him, and shared that the experience deepened his respect for the incredible work done by the organizations and people present, many of whom he’d known and supported for years.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m noting that Prince William, Kate, and their children – George, Charlotte, and Louis – weren’t at the royal family’s traditional Easter service this year at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor on April 20th. It was definitely a noticeable absence from the usual gathering.

A spokesperson announced to The Telegraph that the duchess is pregnant and expecting a baby this summer. The couple expressed their joy and excitement about starting a family.

Prince Frederik, the son of Prince Robert and Princess Julie, passed away on March 1st at the age of 22 after a fight with a rare genetic condition called PolG mitochondrial disease.

According to NBC News, the settlement involved the company paying a significant amount in damages and offering a complete and sincere apology to Prince Harry. They also publicly acknowledged the widespread and intrusive media coverage that affected both his privacy and the privacy of his mother, Princess Diana.

On January 14th, The Princess of Wales shared the wonderful news that her cancer treatment has been successful and she is now in remission.

She announced on X (formerly Twitter) on January 14th that her cancer is in remission and she’s concentrating on getting better. She added that, like anyone facing a cancer diagnosis, she’s still adjusting to life after it.

She added that she was excited about the year ahead and optimistic about what it would bring.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is grieving the loss of her rescue beagle, whom she adopted in 2015, before she met Prince Harry.

On January 7th, she shared a heartfelt message on Instagram about crying so much she’d lost count. She described how she’d often stand in the shower, hoping the water would wash away her sadness or make it feel less real, but acknowledging that it’s okay to feel those emotions anyway.

Meghan lovingly remembered her dog, Guy, saying, “Thank you for always loving me, my sweet boy. You brought so much joy to my life.”

 

Edward Pettifer, the stepson of Prince William and Prince Harry’s former nanny, Tiggy Legge-Bourke (also known as Alexandra Pettifer), was a victim of the terrorist attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day.

Prince William and Catherine were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Ed Pettifer. In a statement posted on Kate Middleton’s Instagram on January 4th, Prince William said their thoughts are with the Pettifer family and everyone affected by this terrible tragedy.

Meghan Markle, known for her role in the TV show Suits, launched a new Instagram account on January 1st. She had previously closed her personal social media accounts right before marrying Prince Harry in 2018.

The next day, she revealed a new Netflix show called With Love, Meghan. A press release described it as a fresh take on lifestyle shows, combining helpful tips and honest chats with both familiar and new friends.
