It appears there’s some family tension, as soccer star David Beckham didn’t feature his oldest son, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, in his review of 2025.

As a longtime fan, I noticed something a bit sad when looking at the Beckham family’s Instagram posts from the end of the year. It seemed like Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, weren’t at some really important events – like David’s 50th birthday and Inter Miami’s big MLS Cup win! His younger siblings, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, were all there, which made Brooklyn and Nicola’s absence even more noticeable. It just felt a little strange to see them missing out on those family moments.

David shared that 2025 was an unforgettable year, marking his 50th birthday, receiving a knighthood (which he still can’t quite believe!), and celebrating an MLS championship as an owner. He feels incredibly fortunate for all of it.

He went on to express his deep gratitude to his wonderful wife, children, friends, and colleagues, saying he couldn’t have achieved anything without their support.

David shared a heartfelt message with his family, expressing his love for Victoria Beckham and their children while reflecting on the wonderful memories made throughout the year.

There’s also another possible explanation for why Brooklyn wasn’t mentioned. As Cruz recently shared on Instagram, his parents didn’t unfollow him willingly. He claims they woke up to find themselves blocked – and he was blocked too, meaning they didn’t choose to unfollow him.

David and Victoria Beckham, married since 1999, spent Christmas apart from their son Brooklyn. While they decorated their own home and shared photos online, Brooklyn celebrated with Nicola Peltz’s parents, Nelson and Claudia Heffner Peltz.

While there wasn’t an official requirement, many people expected Nicola Peltz to wear a wedding dress designed by her future mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham, when she married Brooklyn Beckham in April 2022. The wedding took place at Nicola’s family’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Nicola remained silent about the issue for months, but eventually clarified there wasn’t any conflict regarding a dress. She did admit to being a little let down that she couldn’t wear a custom design by Victoria Beckham.

So, I had to find something else! It wasn’t a case of her saying I couldn’t wear it, or me not wanting to – it just didn’t work out. Brooklyn said she’s realized people will always try to be negative or bring others down. However, she’s happy to report that everyone on the team gets along well.

Speaking to Grazia the following month, Nicola called the Beckhams “great in-laws.”

Victoria, who rarely speaks about gossip, described the Peltz-Beckham wedding as “beautiful.”

“Seeing my son so happy is incredibly rewarding,” she shared on TODAY that October. “You can’t ask for anything more than that.”

In a June 2024 interview with InStyle, Brooklyn reflected on his upbringing – growing up with a famous footballer father and a Spice Girl mother – and said he had a very happy childhood.

He admitted things were busy, but said he had amazing parents and really enjoyed himself.

Brooklyn and Nicola spent some of the holidays with Nicola’s family, the Peltzes. But it was clear from photos shared in December that the Beckhams – David, Victoria, Brooklyn, and Nicola – were all happily together, enjoying the present moment, and any worries about family dynamics were unfounded.

Victoria shared a series of photos celebrating the holidays with her family, writing, ‘Being together makes me so happy, I love you all so much!’ She also tagged each of her children and her daughter-in-law in the post.

It’s unclear why, but Brooklyn and Nicola weren’t in any of the photos David Beckham’s parents shared from his 50th birthday celebration in London in May 2025.

According to a source at TopMob News, the couple traveled to England, choosing to miss the Met Gala on May 5th. They reportedly hoped to visit David and celebrate his birthday with him during that week or weekend.

According to a source who spoke with People magazine, Brooklyn Beckham decided against going to David’s party because he didn’t want to encounter his brother Romeo’s girlfriend at the time, DJ Kim Turnbull. Turnbull had been attending more and more family events, including Victoria Beckham’s show at Paris Fashion Week in March 2025, ever since she and Romeo publicly started dating in November 2024.

Following reports that Brooklyn and Nicola Beckham have retained legal counsel – the same lawyer who has represented Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – a source confirmed to TopMob News that while the couple does have a lawyer, it’s not to handle their public image or reputation.

Instead, they’ve brought in Jenny Afi, a lawyer from the U.K. firm Schillings, to correct inaccuracies and fight the spread of false information.

Although the law firm represents the Sussexes – and had David and Victoria Beckham as wedding guests in 2018 – a source confirmed there’s no link between this situation and Meghan and Harry. The source emphasized that Schillings is a well-regarded firm that works with many different clients.

The source pointed out that this situation itself proved the value of having a lawyer – to correct false information and ensure the truth is known.

Neither Brooklyn nor Nicola commented publicly when David received his knighthood in November 2025. They were also missing from the celebration when David’s soccer team, Inter Miami CF, won the MLS Cup in December 2025; only Victoria, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper were there to cheer the victory.
