Throughout December, Paramount+ added a lot of fresh content, including new seasons of popular series like Landman, Mayor of Kingstown, and Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, plus a PAW Patrol Christmas special. They also released new movies such as Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Guns Up. But according to a recent report, a new Stephen King sci-fi adaptation will be available on the service very soon – in just two weeks, in fact.
According to a new report from WhenToStream, the recent Stephen King movie, The Running Man, will be available to stream on Paramount+ in about two weeks, on January 13th, 2026. This is a quick turnaround, considering it only just came out in theaters on November 14th and became available for digital rental on December 16th. If the dates are accurate, you’ll be able to watch the movie on Paramount+ very soon.
The Running Man Hopes To Find New Life on Digital and Streaming

Everyone was excited about the new movie The Running Man because it was directed by Edgar Wright and starred Glen Powell. It’s been a long time since the story by Stephen King was last adapted for the big screen – the previous film, with Arnold Schwarzenegger, came out in 1987.
The movie didn’t perform as well as hoped at the box office, earning over $68 million worldwide, though it did find a dedicated fanbase. Critics gave it a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while audiences scored it higher at 78%.
People who’ve seen the movie praise the actors, its commentary on the media, and the exciting action sequences, especially the lead actor’s performance. However, some viewers felt it didn’t quite capture the style of the director’s earlier films, and others were disappointed with the ending or found the story lacking depth.
Films can often find renewed success through video on demand and especially streaming services, giving them a second chance and sparking new conversations. It’s unclear if more views on Paramount+ will change how people feel about The Running Man, but this has happened with other movies before, and it’s definitely possible it could happen again.
The Running Man is currently available on video on demand.
