The fourth season of a well-known Marvel series on Disney+ is moving forward and has become the most-watched Marvel show on the streaming service. Since Disney+ began in 2019, it’s offered a variety of Marvel shows, including both live-action and animated content. This year, Marvel brought back a beloved classic with the premiere of X-Men ’97, which continues the story of the original X-Men: The Animated Series.
At New York Comic-Con 2025, Marvel TV’s Brad Winderbaum hinted that X-Men ’97 could continue beyond its already confirmed three seasons. While not an official announcement, Marvel Studios is already discussing potential fourth and fifth seasons – a first for the studio’s streaming shows. This indicates strong consideration for extending the series.
X-Men ’97 has a lot of potential beyond what we’ve already seen. They’re already planning seasons 4 and 5! I’ve seen almost all of season 3 in storyboard form, and it’s amazing. One episode recently brought me to tears while I was editing it. It’s truly a fantastic show.
Since premiering in March 2024, X-Men ’97 has been a major hit for Marvel. Though it doesn’t fit into the main Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline, the show’s return to the classic style and stories that fans loved was met with overwhelmingly positive reviews and currently boasts a 99
Which Marvel Disney+ Shows Are Most Likely To Receive a Season 4?
Daredevil: Born Again

Marvel hasn’t usually renewed its live-action shows on Disney+ for multiple seasons. So far, only Loki and WandaVision (with follow-up series Agatha All Along and Vision Quest) have gotten more than one season. But Marvel now appears to be changing course by bringing back some of its older series originally made for Netflix.
Marvel has already approved a third season of Daredevil: Born Again before the second season even comes out in March 2026. This shows a lot of confidence in the show’s potential, and it could pave the way for characters from the old Netflix Marvel series to appear in the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. Because of this, and the show’s early success with its first two seasons, a fourth season is very likely.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Just like with X-Men ’97, Marvel Studios was impressed enough by Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man to give it a second season before the first one even finished airing. The show, which premiered in January 2025, quickly won over both viewers and critics, earning a high 97
Marvel Studios seems confident in its animated series on Disney+. Both X-Men ’97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man are planned as yearly releases. If Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man follows the same pattern as X-Men ’97, we can likely expect a fourth season of that show as well.
Marvel Zombies

The animated series Marvel Zombies quickly became popular on Disney+ after its release earlier this year. It expanded on the zombie storyline from Season 1 of What If…? While a second season hasn’t been officially confirmed, Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum hinted that more episodes would be made if viewers continued to watch the show.
Disney+ doesn’t usually share details about how many people watch its shows, but reports suggest that Marvel Zombies performed even better than expected. This is a good indication that the series might be renewed. If the numbers are strong enough, Marvel Zombies could have multiple seasons, like What If…? and other animated Marvel series.
