It’s that time of year for a new Harlan Coben thriller, and this one, called Run Away, is a real page-turner. The story follows Simon, a man who seems to have it all – a great career, a beautiful home, and a perfect life. But appearances can be deceiving.

His daughter, Paige, is actually struggling with drug addiction and frequently runs away from home. This causes serious problems within the family. When Simon eventually finds her in a park, he hopes to bring her back to safety, but she’s with someone else, and a subsequent altercation is captured on video and quickly spreads online.

This new series delivers the kind of suspenseful thrills fans have come to expect from Harlan Coben, building on the success of titles like Fool Me Once, Missing You, and The Stranger. He consistently creates shows that keep you on the edge of your seat.

As a big fan of thrillers, I was excited to see the cast list for this new Harlan Coben series! It’s packed with actors I recognize and love – James Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver, Alfred Enoch, and a bunch of others. I was curious about who plays who, so I dug a little deeper. James Nesbitt as Simon Greene

Simon Greene appears to be a successful man who has built a good life for himself. However, a series of troubling incidents involving his daughter, Paige, lead to him becoming the prime suspect in a murder investigation.

You might recognize James Nesbitt from several popular shows! He’s no stranger to Harlan Coben adaptations, having previously appeared in Stay Close and Missing You. Over the years, he’s also been in Cold Feet, Murphy’s Law, The Missing, Bloodlands, and Line of Duty.

Ellie de Lange as Paige

Paige is the daughter of Simon and Ingrid. She went to university and began dating a boyfriend who introduced her to drugs and a dangerous lifestyle. When Paige runs away with him, her family begins to fall apart, and a single tragic event alters everyone’s lives forever.

You might recognize Ellie de Lange from her appearances in the TV series Arcadia, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, and Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light.

Ruth Jones as Elena Ravenscroft

Elena Ravenscroft is a former police officer specializing in firearms who now works as a private investigator. She’s hired by a rich man to find his son, Henry, but the case quickly becomes dangerous. A series of murders connected to Henry begin to occur, and Elena finds herself in increasing danger as she investigates.

You probably recognize Ruth Jones from the hit show Gavin & Stacey, which she co-created and starred in. She’s also known for co-writing and starring in Stella, and has appeared in other popular series like Fat Friends, Hattie, Nighty Night, and Saxondale.

Minnie Driver as Ingrid Greene

Ingrid Greene is a dedicated pediatrician married to Simon, and together they’ve built a loving home for their three children. However, Ingrid struggles with her daughter Paige, and when Paige runs away once more, Ingrid is determined to understand why.

You might recognize Minnie Driver from films like Circle of Friends, Good Will Hunting, and About a Boy, or from TV shows like Will & Grace, The Witcher: Blood Origin, Speechless, Emily in Paris, The Serpent Queen, and Our Flag Means Death. This British-American actress and singer has had a long and successful career in both film and television.

Alfred Enoch as Isaac Fagbenle

Isaac Fagbenle is a determined and direct investigator. When drug dealer Aaron is murdered, Isaac’s investigation leads him to Simon, who was caught on video assaulting Aaron. As Isaac digs deeper, it becomes clear that his own personal life is becoming entangled with the case.

You might recognize Alfred Enoch from his popular roles in How to Get Away with Murder and the Harry Potter films. He’s also appeared in series like Trust Me, and more recently, in The Couple Next Door and Miss Austen.

Lucian Msamati as Cornelius Faber

Cornelius Faber lives on the property where a shocking murder occurs. He encounters Simon, who is frantically searching for his missing daughter, Paige. However, Simon isn’t sure if he can rely on Cornelius.

You might recognize Lucian Msamati from his roles in popular shows like Hostage, Gangs of London, His Dark Materials, Game of Thrones, Luther, Conclave, and Best Interests.

Tracy-Ann Oberman as Jessica Kinberg

Jessica Kinberg is a skilled and assertive lawyer brought in to manage the fallout after Simon’s viral attack on Aaron, which escalates into a murder investigation. She’s used to winning, but this case presents a significant challenge.

You might recognize Tracy-Ann Oberman from shows like EastEnders, Friday Night Dinner, New Tricks, It’s a Sin, and Ridley Road – she’s well-known for those roles.
