Netflix has become known for creating some truly outstanding and unforgettable TV series, with many boasting consistently high quality throughout their entire run. As a leading streaming service, Netflix has often been innovative, though not every original show has been a hit. While some series start well but lose momentum, others have maintained their popularity by consistently delivering strong and well-loved episodes.
Many popular and highly-rated TV shows, including Lost, Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, and Black Mirror, have suffered from at least one weak episode. However, seven original Netflix shows stand out because they consistently deliver quality â not a single episode feels like a letdown, even across multiple seasons. This makes them excellent choices for a binge-watching session.
7) The Queenâs Gambit (2020)

Despite some criticism that its plot was somewhat predictable and the finale felt hurried, the 2020 miniseries The Queenâs Gambit was widely praised and doesn’t have any truly weak episodes. The seven-part series features Anya Taylor-Joy as Beth Harmon, a brilliant young chess player battling addiction. Known for its stunning visuals and Taylor-Joyâs exceptional performance, The Queenâs Gambit boasts a 96
6) BoJack Horseman (2014-2020)

Most animated sitcoms have a few weak episodes, but BoJack Horseman is different. The show stars Will Arnett as BoJack, a former 90s sitcom starâwho happens to be a horseâtrying to make a comeback with an autobiography. What sets BoJack Horseman apart is its willingness to honestly explore difficult topics like depression, trauma, addiction, and social issues, which many other shows shy away from. This mix of humor and tragedy has made it one of the most highly regarded animated series ever created, and every single one of its 76 episodes is fantastic.
5) Dark (2017-2020)

Netflix’s Dark is a highly acclaimed series known for its originality and complexity. Boasting a 95
4) Adolescence (2025)

Netflix’s new show, Adolescence, is quickly becoming a standout hit. Though it’s short â just four episodes â it’s beautifully made, using impressive, continuous single-shot filming to pull you right into its deeply emotional story. The acting is fantastic, especially from Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham, and critics love it â it currently has a 97
3) The OA (2016-2019)

Created by Brit Marling (who also plays the lead character, Prairie Johnson) and Zal Batmanglij, The OA is a truly original series on Netflix. Despite being cancelled after just two seasonsâand with more seasons plannedâthe show was gaining popularity at the time. The OA centers around Prairie Johnson, who reappears after being missing for seven years. She was held captive and used in experiments about near-death experiences, and during this time, she and other captives discover they have the ability to move between different dimensions. It’s a visually stunning and increasingly gripping series, and many fans are hoping for a revival.
2) Mindhunter (2017-2019)

Like The OA, Mindhunter was cancelled by Netflix before it could fully develop, despite becoming a very popular show during its two seasons. The series centers on FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), along with psychology professor Wendy Carr (Carrie Coon), as they pioneer the FBIâs Behavioral Science Unit. Their work involves interviewing serial killers to gain insight into their minds and use that knowledge to solve future cases. Mindhunter was widely praised for its writing, David Fincherâs direction, its dark and compelling atmosphere, and strong performances, earning a 97
1) The Good Place (2016-2020)

As a total TV buff, I have to say The Good Place is something special. Created by Michael Schur â the guy behind so many hilarious shows â it really stood out for being fresh, full of surprises, and just beautifully made. Itâs a comedy, but it also deals with some really thoughtful stuff, following a group of people trying to figure out what happens after they die. Honestly, the whole series is fantastic â not a single dud episode! But what really sets it apart is the finale; I genuinely think it’s one of the best TV endings ever. It’s no surprise itâs so well-loved â with a 97
