Season two of The Night Manager will feature two new characters who will challenge Jonathan Pine (played by Tom Hiddleston). Camila Morrone, known for her role in Daisy Jones & The Six, and Diego Calva, from Babylon, have been cast in these pivotal roles.
Erica Morrone stars as Roxana Bolaños, a savvy businesswoman secretly working as an intelligence operative. She finds herself caught up in a risky secret operation, sending Jonathan undercover to infiltrate the world of arms dealer Teddy Dos Santos, played by Calva.
Morrone’s new character is incredibly intelligent – she’s portrayed as the most clever person in any scene. And her connection with Jonathan appears much less stable than the strong, loving relationship he had with Jed in the first season (played by Elizabeth Debicki).
So, The Night Manager is back for a second season, and I’m already hooked! If you’re curious about what’s in store, especially regarding the fantastic addition of Morrone to the cast, I’ve got all the details you need right here. Let’s dive into her major new role and what she brings to the series.
Who is Camila Morrone?

Riley Keough is an American actress with Argentine roots, and she first gained widespread recognition for her leading role in the Prime Video series Daisy Jones & The Six.
The series, inspired by Taylor Jenkins Reid’s book, told the dramatic story of a made-up 1970s rock band. Actress Camila Morrone played the band’s photographer, Camila Alvarez, and received an Emmy nomination for her work.
She’s previously worked on films like the comedy Never Goin’ Back, the remakes Death Wish and Valley Girl, and the 2019 independent film Mickey and the Bear, which earned her significant critical acclaim.

This movie is a touching story about a young woman, played by Morrone, as she navigates adulthood while also taking care of her father (James Badge Dale from Yellowstone: 1923) and figuring out her own path in life.
The actress gained some recognition through her family’s Hollywood ties. Her mother had a ten-year relationship with Al Pacino, and the actress herself dated Leonardo DiCaprio for around five years.
Who is Roxana Bolaños in The Night Manager?

Roxana Bolaños, played by Camila Morrone, runs a shipping company and secretly provides British intelligence with details about potentially dangerous activity on one of her ships.
Morrone described Roxana as a fascinating character. While she might seem predictable at first glance, Roxana is actually surprising, strong-willed, and courageous.
She primarily cares about protecting herself and her family. It would be simple to label her a dangerous woman, but what makes Roxana so compelling – and what I appreciate about David Farr’s writing – is that she’s fiercely independent and in control. She’s the most intelligent person in any situation.
What has Camila Morrone said about joining The Night Manager?

As a film buff, I’ve been following the buzz around The Night Manager season 2, and I recently read that Camila Morrone had some fantastic things to say about working on it. She really emphasized how brilliant the scripts by David Farr were – calling him a genius, in fact! She also gave major props to her co-stars, Tom Hiddleston and Diego Calva, which is always great to hear about a collaborative set.
I’ve never worked with an actor as dedicated as Tom,” she explained. “He genuinely loves being on set, and he’s in almost every scene. He has incredible energy and is always completely focused and well-prepared – you can tell it’s authentic.
Morrone shared that working with Diego is a wonderful experience. They quickly connected because they both speak Spanish, share similar cultures – she’s Argentinian and he’s Mexican – and that created an instant bond.
Just like Diego and I connect through our shared culture, our characters, Roxana and Teddy, have a similar bond. They understand each other without needing to say much.
The Night Manager season 2 is airing Sundays on BBC One and iPlayer.
