The 10 Best Marvel LEGO Sets That Have Been Retired

LEGO and Marvel have teamed up for years to create amazing building sets based on popular Marvel movies and characters. While LEGO consistently releases impressive sets, many of the most popular ones are eventually discontinued, making them harder to find and more expensive to buy.

LEGO and Marvel have teamed up to create some amazing and detailed sets, including iconic items like Avengers Tower and Captain America’s shield. However, to make room for new sets and keep up with what people want, LEGO sometimes stops making older sets – and that includes some of the most popular LEGO Marvel creations.

The Top LEGO Marvel Builds That Are No Longer Being Produced

76218: Sanctum Sanctorum

Doctor Strange’s home, the Sanctum Sanctorum, is a beautifully detailed building in the Marvel version of New York City, and it’s been recreated wonderfully as a LEGO set. This set, featuring characters from both Avengers: Infinity War and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, includes fun details like Doctor Strange’s levitating cloak and portals that can be customized to look like different dimensions.

The LEGO set Sanctum Sanctorum was initially released in August 2022 and retired in December 2024.

76192: Avengers: Endgame Final Battle

As a huge movie fan, I always thought the final battle in Avengers: Endgame deserved its own LEGO set – it was epic! But sadly, LEGO retired that set back in December 2022, so now it’s become really tough to track down.

This set features the remains of the Avengers’ base, along with Ant-Man’s time-traveling van and Thanos with his sword. It also includes minifigures of popular heroes like Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Thor, and Captain America, among others.

76193: The Guardians’ Ship

The Guardians of the Galaxy’s ship, the Benatar, is a highly sought-after LEGO set that’s now hard to find. This large set, released on June 1, 2021, contains 1901 pieces and includes minifigures of Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord, Mantis, Groot, and Thor. LEGO stopped making the Benatar set on December 31, 2023.

76178: Daily Bugle

The Daily Bugle has been featured in Spider-Man movies since Tobey Maguire’s film in 2002. This detailed, 3000+ piece LEGO set recreates the iconic building and lets fans recreate or imagine new scenes with characters from across the Spider-Verse, like Spider-Gwen, Blade, Daredevil, Green Goblin, and Spider-Man himself.

The Daily Bugle set was introduced in June 2021 and will be retired at the end of 2025.

76051: Super Hero Airport Battle

The airport fight in Captain America: Civil War was a huge moment for the Avengers – it was the first time they really fought each other, included an exciting battle on the Quinjet, and showed off Ant-Man’s ability to grow to enormous size. The LEGO Super Hero Airport Battle set lets you recreate all of that with a buildable Quinjet, a large Ant-Man figure, and minifigures of the Avengers who fought on both sides. However, this set is no longer made, having been retired in December 2017, only about a year and a half after it came out in March 2016.

76057: Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle

Marvel’s Spider-Man Ultimate Bridge Battle, available from June 2016 to December 2017, let fans build a large-scale Spider-Man scene of their own.

This set included a bridge you could build, complete with a road that moved and cables that could be taken off. It came with eight character figures: Spider-Man, Spider-Girl, Scarlet Spider, Aunt May, Scorpion, Kraven the Hunter, and Green Goblin, who also had a buildable glider.

76042: The SHIELD Helicarrier

The Marvel and LEGO SHIELD Helicarrier was a particularly popular set. With nearly 3000 pieces, it included runways and miniature Quinjets and fighter jets for play. It came with figures of Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Captain America, Black Widow, and Maria Hill. Released in March 2015, it was discontinued in December 2017.

76022: X-Men vs. The Sentinel

LEGO’s X-Men vs. The Sentinel set let fans recreate the epic battle between the X-Men and their robotic enemies, the Sentinels. The set featured a large Sentinel figure, the X-Jet, and minifigures of iconic characters like Wolverine (in his original yellow suit), Magneto, and Storm. Released in June 2014 and available until July 2015, the set’s popularity coincided with the release of the X-Men: Days of Future Past movie.

76007: Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack

The LEGO set based on the Malibu Mansion Attack from Iron Man 3 is no longer available, having been discontinued in December 2014. In the movie, Tony Stark’s beautiful home was dramatically destroyed, and the 2013 LEGO set let fans build and recreate that iconic scene. The set included minifigures of Tony Stark, his Mark 42 armor, Pepper Potts, the Mandarin, and an Extremis soldier, allowing builders to stage the helicopter attack.

6866: Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown

It’s surprising that Deadpool only appeared in one official LEGO set, released back in 2012. It’s especially unfortunate that the ‘Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown’ set – which included both Deadpool and Wolverine figures, along with a helicopter and motorcycle – was discontinued in December 2013.
