You can find almost any type of technology imaginable at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gamers had a lot of monitor choices at CES 2026, with options varying in size, screen technology, and shape. HP and HyperX stood out with a new line of powerful screens, featuring even more monitors with OLED technology.
I’ve long been impressed with HP OMEN monitors – I’m actually writing this on one! Now, HyperX is becoming HP’s main gaming brand, and they’re starting with four new monitors. The highlight is a gorgeous 34-inch ultrawide OLED monitor with an incredibly fast 360Hz refresh rate. Here’s a rundown of everything you should know.
HyperX is taking over, and monitors are a part of that rebrand

HP is simplifying its gaming brand strategy. Instead of promoting HP for gaming, they’re focusing on HyperX and OMEN. All gaming monitors, laptops, and desktops will now be branded as HyperX OMEN, while HyperX will continue to handle all gaming accessories like headsets and keyboards.
It’s a logical step for the company, and these new monitors actually represent HyperX’s first official lineup. It’s a strong start, featuring a faster 180Hz refresh rate for the already popular OMEN 24 monitor, plus brand-new OLED versions of the OMEN 27q and 27qs.
I was already a big fan of the HP OMEN 27qs monitor, especially its smooth 240Hz refresh rate. But the new HyperX OLED version really updates things, and the 500Hz refresh rate is seriously impressive – it could be amazing for competitive gaming. Even so, it doesn’t quite jump out as revolutionary to me.

The HyperX OMEN OLED 34 (G1) is currently my top pick. I’ve been using the HP OMEN 34c (G2), which I reviewed previously, and this new HyperX model is designed to improve on it in almost every aspect.
This monitor still offers a large, immersive 34-inch curved screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a sharp 1440p resolution, but now uses a new V-Stripe QD-OLED display technology. Essentially, “V-Stripe” describes how the tiny pixels are arranged. Arranging them in vertical stripes helps spread out the wear and tear, reducing the chance of screen burn-in over the long term.
Okay, wow, this monitor’s display is just stunning! The colors are so rich and accurate, and the contrast is absolutely perfect thanks to it being OLED. But what *really* blew me away is how fast it is – we’re talking a 360Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time on an ultrawide! Plus, it’s packed with extras like extra USB ports and a KVM switch. Honestly, if everything keeps going this way, I think the OMEN OLED 34 could easily be the best monitor of 2026.
We don’t have specific details yet, but the product is expected to launch sometime in Spring 2026, and we’ll share pricing information when it’s available.
