As a devoted movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some insights about my character, Soldier Boy, in the upcoming prequel series, “Vought Rising,” from The Boys universe. At the recent Creation Entertainment’s The Road So Far… The Road Ahead: Creation Novi, Michigan convention, I gave fans a tantalizing sneak peek into what the spin-off show will delve into and how it will shape my beloved character. Intriguingly, it seems that the audience will get to witness a more tender and exposed side of Soldier Boy, offering a unique perspective that’s sure to captivate fans!
In a video posted by Fangasm, Ackles explains how the upcoming spin-off series, Vought Rising, offers a fresh perspective on his character, Soldier Boy. Since the show takes place before the timeline of The Boys, Soldier Boy hasn’t had as much time to hide his emotions and develop a tough exterior. Instead, the series will expose more tender and open aspects of the character, revealing what made him become who he is and the insecurities that haunt him, according to Ackles.
He went on, explaining that the series would offer a unique perspective as it delves into the origin of its characters, with Soldier Boy being no exception. Unlike others who may have spent years or decades refining their persona, Soldier Boy is still in the process of self-discovery, shaping his identity and understanding who he truly is. Therefore, this storyline will serve as a journey of maturation for him, chronicling his transformation from his past to his future. The narrative will present a distinct twist in terms of his interactions and personality development.
Vought Rising, initially unveiled at San Diego Comic Con in 2024, has left much to our imagination so far. However, details revealed upon its announcement did shed some light on the fact that it would star Aya Cash reprising her role as Stormfront from Season 2 of The Boys, and it would also delve into Soldier Boy’s past within Vought International during the 1950s. The storyline will unfold around a gripping murder mystery, taking place several decades prior to the timeline of the main series.
Since its debut in 2019, the Prime Video franchise has consistently grown, offering an abundance of content. Although “The Boys” is preparing to conclude with its fifth and final season, there’s no scarcity of spin-offs and other media tied to the comic book series. The initial venture in this new wave is the animated miniseries titled “The Boys Presents: Diabolical“, which presents self-contained tales set within the fictional universe using diverse animation styles. Additionally, we have “Gen V“, a series focusing on younger superheroes and already renewed for a second season. Lastly, anticipate the arrival of “The Boys: Mexico“.
In this series, the central storyline revolves around a struggle between two powerful superhero factions. Unlike traditional comic book characters, these heroes are frequently self-centered and morally questionable. Soldier Boy, played by Ackles, was introduced during the third season and is revealed to be Homelander’s father. Both Soldier Boy and members of the vigilante group The Boys work together in an attempt to eliminate Homelander.
