SNL Alum Chris Redd Details Relationship With Kenan Thompson’s Ex

As a lifestyle expert, I’m following this story closely! The comedian, who worked alongside Kenan Thompson on Saturday Night Live from 2017 to 2022, is finally speaking out about how his relationship with Christina Evangeline, who is currently going through a separation with Kenan, began.

Look, I want to set the record straight. There’s been a lot of talk online about how things unfolded with Christina and me, and honestly, it’s frustrating. I never intentionally went after anyone, and that’s just not my style. I also have a personal rule about dating friends of friends – I would never do that. This situation was really different, a little complicated, and honestly, it just happened naturally. It wasn’t some planned thing, and I want people to understand that.

He added, “It was never nothing crazy until it got crazy.”

The writer described how battling addiction during his five years on the late-night comedy show caused him to feel isolated and alone.

He admitted to struggling with pills while at the show. He described having some issues with them, saying it was a significant problem for him personally. He also confessed to selling some to others, including members of the show’s cast.

He didn’t mention anyone specifically, joking that his colleagues didn’t need to fear him revealing their secrets, but he did claim they hadn’t supported him when he needed help.

He explained that he used to have panic attacks, but people didn’t seem to care, instead just criticizing him. He found it shocking that others would simply watch him struggle and fall apart.

Christina entered the scene during Kenan’s marriage to Kenan, which lasted from 2011 until he filed for divorce in June 2022.

She was the only person who really challenged me and helped me get my life back on track. She supported me through therapy and shared personal experiences that changed how I saw those around me. It was during that time that we fell in love.

But according to Chris, it wasn’t an easy decision to explore a romantic connection with Christina. 

“I felt bad from the start,” he added, noting it was like “an emotional double-edged ass sword.”

He later continued, “But I did choose love.”

I’ve been following this closely, and Chris says that Kenan definitely knew something was going on between him and Evangeline. Apparently, they had a conversation about it! They even worked together on the show Kenan for a while – from 2021 to 2022 – so it wasn’t like they didn’t know each other. Kenan and Evangeline share two daughters, Georgia Marie, who’s 11, and Gianna Michelle, who’s 7, so it’s a complicated situation.

We managed to keep things professional and continued working together for about a year after we had that conversation, agreeing to keep it all private. But as soon as the news got out, everything shifted. It really changed the dynamic, and things just weren’t the same after that.

By 2022, when their relationship became public, Chris had already finished his time on Saturday Night Live before season 48 began. He explained, with emotion, that by the time everyone found out about them, he was no longer with the show.

He also thought about the time he was punched outside The Comedy Cellar in New York City back in October 2022, and he believed it was a direct consequence of his own behavior.

People who’ve known me for a long time would expect me to immediately get even, but I didn’t this time. It actually felt… fair, surprisingly enough.

Despite regretting how things unfolded, Chris felt it was all worthwhile because of the deep, once-in-a-lifetime love he shared with Christina.

I know I let some fans down, and I want to be clear that I’m not okay with how things might look,” he explained. “This isn’t something I’m proud of. I’ve met someone who has completely changed my understanding of love, and I couldn’t risk losing that feeling.

As Chris put it, “It felt like a love I couldn’t miss out on and I had to shoot for it.”

The reality star told The New York Times she’d consider almost any procedure to look younger.

She admitted in June that she’d even consider something extreme – like eating something disgusting daily – if it meant looking younger. She emphasized she was serious, saying, ‘I just might.’

Kim told Allure in July 2022 that she was mostly kidding when she made the comment, but admitted it wasn’t a completely awful idea.

Kim thought for a moment and then said, ‘Honestly, I’d probably eat something awful if someone promised it would make me look younger – even if it meant eating a bowl of poop every day.’

Asked how much she could eat, she said, “Perhaps just a small bite.” She added that a full bowl would be too much for her.

During an April 2025 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer of “Save Me” shared a truly embarrassing story, and didn’t hesitate to reveal all the details.

“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”

To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.

He firmly believed it was just a misunderstanding. “I sincerely apologize,” he said. “I saw the audience turn from supportive to completely against me.”
