Control Resonant Sees Dylan Making “Impossible Choices” to “Decide the Fate of Humanity”

Even though The Game Awards ended on a bit of a confusing note (whatever happened with Highguard?), there were some exciting announcements. One highlight was Control Resonant, the sequel to the popular 2019 game Control. This time, players will follow Dylan Faden, Jesse’s brother, who wakes up from a coma and finds himself in a city facing a huge new threat.

Remedy recently released a trailer on Twitter explaining what newcomers need to know about the first game and how it leads into Resonant. Players who are already familiar with the original won’t find anything new, but the trailer clarifies that the containment procedures at The Oldest House ultimately failed.

While Dylan searches for the missing Jesse, he’ll also be building new relationships, dealing with his past actions, and making difficult decisions that could determine the future of everyone. This suggests the game might have different endings – perhaps Dylan will abandon his quest and even choose to destroy the world, considering how long the Federal Bureau of Control held him captive.

Remedy Entertainment will soon share more details about the story and setting of their upcoming game, Resonant. So far, we know the game takes place in a large, distorted version of Manhattan where players can freely explore and battle. Resonant is an open-world action RPG, giving players the freedom to choose where to go and complete missions, encounters, and events in the order they prefer.
