The first New Game+ Showcase concluded with Pearl Abyss discussing their highly anticipated fantasy action RPG, Crimson Desert. We’ve already gotten a good look at gameplay and the game’s expansive world, and now we know how it stacks up against other large open-world titles. Will Powers, an expert in marketing and strategy, claims the game’s map is bigger than that of Red Dead Redemption 2.
I’m absolutely blown away – the world in this new game is at least twice as big as Skyrim‘s! But it’s not just about being huge, the developers at Pearl Abyss are really focused on making everything feel alive and interactive. They’re still keeping a lot under wraps, like details on crafting and how housing will work. Even the stuff we have seen, like the Sky Isles and their puzzles, still feels mysterious and exciting – there’s so much more to discover!
Powers pointed out that players can battle multiple dragons, but it’s currently unknown if you can actually defeat them. Does the massive robot dragon, Golden Star, qualify as one of these dragons?
We’ll find out for sure soon, but Crimson Desert is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC on March 19th, letting us finally experience the world of Pywel. You can find more information about the game’s mounts here. Interestingly, even though there are many different factions in the game, your choices won’t change the story’s ending.
