Will Bobby Cannavale Attend the Golden Globes 2026? Rose Byrne Says…

Rose Byrne is making memories without her peter rabbit.

Rose Byrne is getting a furry new friend, and that’s why her partner, Bobby Cannavale, won’t be accompanying her to the 2026 Golden Globes. She jokingly explained the reason behind not bringing him as her date.

Rose, 46, shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 8th that he won’t be able to make it, which she said was disappointing. He’s attending a reptile show in New Jersey because they’re planning to get a bearded dragon, and she described the show as the best place to find one.

Even though Bobby, 55, can’t attend the ceremony on January 11th, he and his wife agreed they needed to get a new pet for their sons, 9-year-old Rocco and 8-year-old Rafael. They felt it would be a letdown if they didn’t, and Rose is happy to welcome the new pet into their home.

She playfully said they were beautiful, then jokingly added that she thought they probably ate live crickets. She mentioned a friend once owned one and that crickets occasionally get away.

As for who the Insidious alum is taking to the Globes?

She described her brother, George Byrne, as “wonderful” and very handsome. She said he often gets noticed because people compare him to Robert Pattinson and Jacob Elordi. He’s planning to come and support her, and she thinks it will be a lot of fun.

There’s exciting news for Rose’s fans! She’s been nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her work in the 2025 film, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. This is a welcome recognition after she was previously nominated as a supporting actress for the show Damages alongside Glenn Close back in 2010.

It’s been over ten years since she last attended the event, so she’s thrilled that people are now seeing her portrayal of Linda, a mother dealing with her daughter’s unexplained sickness.

She told Deadline last month she was incredibly happy and honored to be nominated alongside such talented actresses. She praised their dedication and artistry, explaining that their film, though small in scope, truly embodies its central character. She sees the nomination as a testament to the unique and brilliant work of director Mary Bronstein.
