Marvel heroes gain incredible abilities in many ways – through things like radiation, magic, genetics, and advanced technology. But another path to power is mastering martial arts. By dedicating their lives to perfecting unique fighting styles, many heroes reach superhuman levels, capable of incredible feats like destroying stone and metal with a single strike. Some even combine their existing superpowers with these martial arts skills, making them even more formidable.
Whether they’re protecting neighborhoods or eliminating targets across the galaxy, these martial artists rank among Marvel Comics’ most skilled fighters.
7) Daredevil

Matt Murdock, known as Daredevil, lost his sight after an accident involving radioactive materials. However, this also dramatically sharpened his other senses, which he now uses to become a highly skilled martial artist. As a child, he was trained by a blind master named Stick and became proficient in 15 different fighting styles, blending them seamlessly in combat. He also learned to target pressure points, allowing him to incapacitate opponents with a single touch. Combined with his enhanced senses for dodging and countering, Daredevil is one of Marvel’s most formidable street-level heroes. He’s proven his abilities by defeating over a hundred enemies in a single night and holding his own against powerful fighters like Karnak, Wolverine, and Iron Fist.
6) Elektra

Elektra Natchios is considered the world’s deadliest assassin, having worked for groups like Kingpin and S.H.I.E.L.D. She received rigorous training from Stick, Daredevil’s teacher, and the Hand ninja clan, becoming a master of numerous fighting styles. Elektra is a highly skilled ninja capable of taking down opponents before they even know she’s there, and she’s proficient with weapons like sais, swords, and throwing stars. She’s demonstrated incredible feats of skill, including slicing bullets with her sais and defeating formidable martial artists such as Silver Samurai, Taskmaster, Bullseye, and even fighting Iron Fist to a draw.
5) Karnak

Most martial arts focus on finding and using an opponent’s weaknesses, and Karnak, an Inhuman, excels at this. Unlike other Inhumans who gained powers from the Terrigen Mists, Karnak became a master martial artist through intense training of his body and mind. He developed the ability to instantly see flaws – whether physical or mental – in anything or anyone. By precisely targeting these weaknesses, Karnak can defeat enemies with a single blow. He’s proven this by breaking diamonds, defeating opponents with just a touch, and even overcoming the incredibly strong Thing.
4) Black Panther

T’Challa, destined to be the King of Wakanda and its protector, spent his life mastering combat. He became highly skilled in all types of fighting, both armed and unarmed. To earn the title of Black Panther, he defeated Wakanda’s best warriors. After consuming the Heart-Shaped Herb, a mystical plant, his strength, speed, and reflexes were dramatically enhanced, making him an incredibly formidable fighter. T’Challa is considered one of Earth’s most skilled martial artists, having fought to a draw with experts like Captain America, Daredevil, and Iron Fist. He’s also easily defeated powerful opponents like Wolverine and Karnak.
3) Gamora

Gamora was raised and rigorously trained – and often tortured – by the powerful Thanos, making her one of the galaxy’s deadliest warriors. She’s mastered over 83% of all known fighting styles and used these skills both as Thanos’s deadliest assassin and later as a Guardian of the Galaxy. A highly skilled combatant, she’s proficient with any weapon, from swords to energy guns, and possesses incredible strength – even capable of harming someone as powerful as Captain Marvel. She’s proven herself a formidable opponent, able to defeat armies quickly and even kill highly trained Asgardian warriors with ease.
2) Iron Fist

I’ve been following Danny Rand’s story for a while now, and it’s incredible. He lost his parents when he was young while they were exploring the Himalayas, but he was rescued by monks in this hidden city called K’un-Lun. They raised him and trained him in all kinds of martial arts. When he turned nineteen, he accomplished something unbelievable – he defeated an immortal dragon named Shou-Lao and gained its power, becoming the Iron Fist! He can channel energy, or chi, into his fists, which gives him amazing abilities. He can absorb and project energy, even hypnotize people, and he can create a massive energy dragon! I’ve read about him stopping a train with a single punch, kicking the Hulk through a wall, and even taking down a Hellicarrier! It’s truly amazing what he can do.
1) Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi is widely considered the world’s greatest martial artist, rightfully earning the title of Master of Kung-Fu. From birth, his father – a powerful sorcerer and crime lord – rigorously trained him to be a formidable fighter. Shang-Chi has mastered all known fighting styles and is skilled with various weapons like swords, staffs, and nunchucks. His signature weapons are the mystical Ten Rings, which give him incredible offensive and defensive power. He’s also a master of chi, allowing him to enhance his strength, speed, and reflexes beyond human limits. Remarkably, Shang-Chi has even trained some of Earth’s greatest heroes, including Captain America, Wolverine, and Spider-Man. He’s known for his incredible speed, having defeated entire armies alone, and has proven his skill by defeating powerful opponents like the Thing and Iron Fist on multiple occasions.
