Nikki Glaser Teases Taylor Swift Easter Egg in Golden Globes Monologue

Nikki Glaser has that classic thing that you like.

The comedian, who will host the Golden Globes in 2026, revealed that Taylor Swift will be featured in her opening monologue at the 83rd annual awards show.

Nikki told Zuri Hall from TopMob News on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton that she’s just hoping to enjoy herself. She said she genuinely had fun at the last event and was surprisingly focused in the moment. She’s hoping to feel that same way tonight when she takes the stage, especially since she’ll be walking out to a Taylor Swift song.

The host for the evening hinted that Taylor Swift will probably perform one of her songs from the album 1989, playfully adding, “Let’s just say ‘I Never Go Out of Style’.”

She said she was really excited, explaining that the song gave her the confidence to perform.

After some initial nervousness about hosting last year, the 41-year-old is now relaxed and confident about how tonight’s show will go.

The comedian, who became famous in 2024 after a viral video of her roasting Tom Brady, has said she used to feel nervous before shows last year because she wasn’t yet comfortable being around celebrities.

Nikki said she doesn’t often cross paths with people like those nominated for TopMob News’ 2025 award – including Nicole Kidman, Demi Moore, and Denzel Washington. She recalled being amazed that Angelina Jolie had to sit and listen to her speak for nine minutes.

Although she seemed completely at ease during the 2025 ceremony, the former FBoy Island contestant revealed she practiced the entire show nearly 100 times to perfect her performance.

I’ve explained this story many times – this is actually the ninety-fourth time, or so. It’s always evolving, even since the last time I told it. We’re constantly refining it, trying to improve the jokes and get the right feel for the show.

Nikki had a couple of awkward moments during rehearsals this year, even before her performance at the Beverly Hilton. She quickly learned that making fun of Julia Roberts didn’t land well with audiences – a joke she tried out at a comedy club fell flat.

When telling jokes, it’s important to be careful not to offend anyone, she said on CBS Mornings on January 6th. But you also want to entertain the audience and playfully tease the celebrities everyone is eager to see joked about – people at home want you to poke fun at the A-listers.
