Julia Roberts Details Epic Party With Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield

Julia Roberts went method for her After the Hunt role.

The Golden Globes 2026 nominee revealed she got into character by hosting a dinner party for her fellow cast members Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield, as well as director Luca Guadagnino.

Julia shared with TopMob News’ Zuri Hall on January 11th, while outside the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, that she and her husband weren’t sure how their idea to host a gathering would turn out. She explained that before she could even suggest having everyone come to her house, her husband, Luca, independently suggested the same thing.

Julia, nominated for Best Actress at the 83rd annual awards show (airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+), said the experience was surprisingly positive, even though she and her husband, Daniel Moder, were initially worried. She described it as “kind of life-affirming.”

She explained that they continued cooking and cleaning throughout everything, taking care of all the details. It was demanding, but ultimately rewarding and created a wonderful atmosphere.

During a recent interview on CBS Mornings, she explained that the audience reacted negatively to her jokes about Julia during a test run. Because of this, she said any joke she does tell about Julia will be carefully crafted and sensitive – she’s worked very hard to make sure it’s appropriate. She emphasized that you shouldn’t joke about someone widely considered America’s Sweetheart.

There’s also a different reason Nikki isn’t criticizing Julia or the other famous attendees at the Golden Globes.

The comedian, hosting the award show for the second year in a row, said he loves the people being honored. He admitted it’s easy to joke about younger performers, feeling like an experienced performer giving playful ribbing. However, he explained he’s taking a different approach this year when it comes to those he’s admired for a long time.

She explained that it’s important to be careful when making jokes, ensuring they don’t spoil the fun for anyone.
