Leonardo DiCaprio Reacts to Jab About Much Younger Girlfriends

Nikki Glaser went for the low-hanging fruit at the 2026 Golden Globes.

She told a joke about Leonardo DiCaprio‘s tendency to date women much younger than himself. It felt necessary, given the context of all the celebrities on the Golden Globes red carpet.

Nikki, hosting the Golden Globes on January 11th at the Beverly Hilton, playfully said Leonardo DiCaprio’s nominated performance in One Battle After Another was amazing. She continued, praising his long and successful career, noting his many memorable roles, collaborations with top directors, and previous awards, including three Golden Globes and an Oscar.

She was really impressed, saying, “It’s amazing you managed to do all of that before your girlfriend turned thirty! It’s incredible.”

He just laughed when someone made a joke – honestly, he’s heard it all before! But here’s the thing that’s killing me: I saw pictures of him on vacation in St. Barts with Vittoria Ceretti, she’s stunning, but she wasn’t with him tonight. Where was she?! It’s driving me crazy trying to figure it all out!

“Leo, I apologize for making that silly joke. I really didn’t want to, but honestly, I don’t know much about you,” Nikki explained. “I did some searching, and the most detailed interview I could find was in Teen Beat back in 1991. Is pasta still your favorite food?”

Yeah, he mouthed from his table, giving a thumbs-up, it sure is.

Moving on, Glaser couldn’t not mention TimothĂ©e Chalamet.

Okay, so he didn’t really trash talk Kylie, which, fine, I guess that’s what he said he wouldn’t do. But honestly? Everyone’s talking about them! Like, even when he’s accepting awards, it always comes back to Kylie. It’s all anyone wants to discuss, and it’s driving me wild! I just want to know about the work, but no, it’s always Kylie, Kylie, Kylie…

Timothée Chalamet has been nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his role in Marty Supreme. The film, which centers around a very confident and skilled table tennis player, is also nominated for Best Musical or Comedy Film. The writers, Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein, are also in the running for Best Screenplay.

Glazer highly praised Chalamet’s commitment, joking that he was the first actor to bulk up for a film about ping pong. Chalamet reportedly gained over 60 ounces of muscle, which Glazer found incredible.

Trying to write a truly funny joke about Julia Roberts is a big challenge for any comedian. However, Glaser did manage a somewhat successful attempt.

I’m back, and it’s a sequel, just like with the show Wicked! They’ve basically had to rebuild me, a little like Frankenstein’s monster, only with a surgeon who probably shouldn’t be practicing medicine. And honestly, like some of the podcasters here tonight, I really shouldn’t be anywhere near Julia Roberts.

The movie star did flash her signature smile.

Following her successful hosting gig last year, Glaser understood she faced a challenge: being humorous and current without offending the celebrities in attendance – or at least, without upsetting too many of them.

It’s a tricky balance,” the comedian, 41, told Gayle King on CBS Mornings before hosting the Golden Globes. “You need to be careful with jokes so you don’t spoil anyone’s evening, but you also want to give viewers something to enjoy. And honestly, people at home want you to joke about the famous actors and actresses they’re excited to see.” The Globes are airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
