Elle Fanning Reacts to Jack Black’s Shoutout After Crush Confession

Elle Fanning is fawning over her celebrity crush Jack Black.

At the 2026 Golden Globes on January 11th, the actress from Sentimental Value received a surprising video message from a comedian she had previously called incredibly attractive.

In a clip from Access Hollywood shown at the awards show on January 11th, Jack jokingly told Elle, “You’re making me blush with all this talk about hall passes! It’s flattering, but honestly, it’s a little embarrassing.”

Blowing her a kiss, the 56-year-old continued, “Much love to you and yours.”

Jack, who has been married to Tanya Haden since 2006, also shared a kind and funny message for Elle’s boyfriend, Gus Wenner, who accompanied her to the ceremony hosted by Nikki Glaser. (Check out photos of all the stars on the red carpet here.)

“Hi to your boyfriend also,” he added. “Dude, I didn’t do anything.”

Elle was glad to see the actor from School of Rock was taking her crush on him so well.

Honestly, I was really stressed thinking I might get a restraining order! It sounds crazy, but I’m a huge Jack Black fan. He’s just so incredibly charming and lovable – you can’t help but adore him.

Elle’s sister, Dakota Fanning, shared that they actually have a group chat specifically for discussing how attractive he is.

Dakota, 31, playfully brought up a past comment to her sister during their September appearance on Vanity Fair‘s Lie Detection Test. She asked, “Would you break up with your boyfriend if Jack Black told you he was in love with you?”

Elle insisted she wouldn’t leave her boyfriend of two years for Jack, but the lie detector test suggested she wasn’t being entirely truthful, which made her sisters laugh.

Elle laughed and explained that when the executive from Rolling Stone met Jack at the 2024 Golden Globes, he jokingly told him, “Just so you know, she thinks you’re her ‘get out of jail free card.'”
