Many gamers consider Bloodborne, a game only available on PlayStation 4, to be one of FromSoftware’s greatest titles, and possibly their best ever.
This atmospheric action RPG, inspired by the Souls series, really resonated with players thanks to its stunning visuals, memorable music, and difficult but rewarding battles.
Many fans love it, but it seems particularly meaningful to its creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki.
In an interview with Game Informer, the developer shared that Bloodborne holds a special place for him, citing a couple of key reasons. He explained that the game was especially difficult to make, calling it “the most challenging development cycle we’ve ever faced as a studio.”
Honestly, what really gets me about Miyazaki-san is how much of himself is in these games. He’s said it himself – he pours his own ideas into everything, from the story and the world, right down to how the game actually plays. It’s not just a job for him; it’s clearly a really personal creative outlet, and you can feel that when you’re playing.
He ends his thoughts on Bloodborne by saying it’s likely the game that best captures his personal preferences and style.
So, if you wanted to know which of Miyazaki’s games is the most him, you have your answer.
Bloodborne remains exclusively playable on the PlayStation 4, and players have been eagerly requesting versions for PC and PlayStation 5. Many are also hoping for a remastered edition or even a brand new sequel.
Despite hints over the years, Sony currently doesn’t seem to be working on the game. Last year marked its 10th anniversary, but there was no celebration or announcement.
Bloodborne fans are still hoping for a sequel or remaster, and many believe Sony should definitely consider revisiting the game. While there’s no guarantee it will happen, ignoring such a popular title would be a mistake.
