The biggest night in television is almost here.
It was Harvey Guillén and Brenda Song who revealed the Emmy Award nominations for 2025 on July 15. Notably, shows such as “Severance” and “The Studio” earned a significant number of nominations, with “Severance” leading the way with 27 and “The Studio” close behind with 23.
Simultaneously, series such as “The Last of Us” and “The Pitt” received their fair share of anticipated nominations. This implies they will be competing in various categories at the 77th annual event, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Pedro Pascal and Noah Wyle).
In this year’s selection, there were some programs that drew mixed reactions – some found it surprising they made the cut, while others felt they should have been included. For example, despite achieving commercial success, the final season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” was overlooked in all categories. On the other hand, “Squid Game,” which became a groundbreaking non-English series by being nominated for Outstanding Drama Series in 2022, seemed to lose some of its initial buzz with the second season.
Today is an exhilarating day, much like it would be for any other dedicated follower, finding myself in the same shoes as the remarkable Kristen Bell. She’s been nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category for “Nobody Wants This.” It’s truly an honor to stand alongside her talent. Furthermore, the Netflix series I’m part of has made its mark among the distinguished nominees in the Outstanding Comedy Series category. What a privilege to be part of such a stacked lineup!
In an unexpected turn of events, the comedy series “The Bear” is now in its fourth year and continues to garner attention in award ceremonies. Interestingly, last year alone, it broke a record by earning a staggering 23 nominations, surpassing the previous record held by “30 Rock” with 22 nods back in 2009. The series features Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri as its main stars.
In 2024 and 2023, Jeremy, known for his exceptional portrayal of Chef Carmy, was honored with Best Actor in a Comedy Series awards. Remarkably, this year finds him once again nominated in the same category. To underscore, he stated that the series significantly impacted his life.
He expressed during his speech last year that it has given him hope that change can occur if one is willing to connect, and thus, no one is truly alone. To my wonderful cast, I have an eternal affection for you. I cherish the opportunity to work with you, and I aspire for us to remain connected throughout our lives; my feelings for you are profound.
To find out which contender wins gold, make sure to watch the 2025 Emmy Awards on September 15, only on CBS.

In the years since “Black Mirror” debuted in 2011, it has garnered numerous Emmy nominations. However, it was Rashida Jones who made history by becoming the first actress to receive a Lead Actress nod in the Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category for her performance on the show.
Although Martin Short received recognition as Outstanding Lead Actor In a Comedy Series for “Only Murders in the Building”, Steve Martin, his on-screen partner, was not included in the list of nominees.
Selena Gomez, just like her fellow actor Steve, was not nominated for any awards for the show “Only Murders in the Building”, even though the series garnered a total of eight nominations, one of which was for Outstanding Comedy Series.
This year has been exceptionally fantastic for Bowen Yang, setting a new record as the most Emmy-nominated Asian male actor ever, with four nominations. His nod came from the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category for Saturday Night Live, a recognition he also received in 2024, 2022, and 2021.
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share an interesting tidbit: The actor from “Wicked” is not just known for his role in that musical, but he’s also the sole performer who’s been nominated for sketch comedy. Incredibly, my favorite comedian, Kenan Thompson, has earned six nominations in this category.
Regardless of garnering an impressive 14 nominations, including Best Drama, at the 2022 Emmy Awards, making history as the first non-English series to receive this recognition, the Netflix series failed to win any awards in any category for its second season.
Harrison Ford, known primarily for his extensive work in films, has secured his first ever Emmy nomination at the age of 83. This recognition comes from his role in “Shrinking” within the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series.
The television series, titled “The Handmaid’s Tale,” ended in May following six intense seasons, culminating in a climactic finale. However, the last group of episodes didn’t secure any nominations despite the show having been nominated for 77 Emmys throughout its run and winning 15, including Outstanding Drama Series. This is an unexpected decision given the show’s previous Emmy recognition.
