John Stamos Reveals Hair Makeover—Complete With Blonde Highlights

Everywhere you look, there’s John Stamos serving a new look.

The Full House actor updated his usual brown hair with blonde highlights, a change that would even surprise his character, Uncle Jesse, and his famous mullet.

In a video posted to Instagram on January 13th, 62-year-old John showcased his recent hair transformation. His stylist, Riawna Capri, carefully lightened the front sections of his hair using foil. She then colored the rest of his previously dark brown (with some gray) hair black and added waves to give it more fullness. John mentioned he’s learning to embrace the hair styling process.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve noticed John Stamos is always having fun with his look! He’s no stranger to switching things up – remember last summer when he gave himself a haircut because his stylist was away? It was a whole process! He actually FaceTimed with his hairdresser to talk him through it step-by-step. He shares his adorable 7-year-old son, Billy, with his wife, Caitlin, and it’s clear they’re a fun-loving family.

Besides working on his own self-care, John recently supported a friend through a difficult time. In November 2024, he shaved the head of his Full House co-star, Dave Coulier, while Dave was undergoing treatment for stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

He shared a photo on Instagram showing himself wearing a bald cap, joking that it was a way to support his friend, Dave Coulier, who had recently shaved his head. He wrote that he admired Dave’s strength and positive attitude in handling the change, finding it truly inspiring.

You know, when someone you care about is going through a tough time, sometimes just letting them know you believe in them is everything. I recently told a loved one that I was there for them, no matter what, and how incredibly proud I was of their strength. And of course, I told them I loved them. It’s amazing how much those simple words can mean.

Dave, 66, happily announced he was cancer-free last March, but just seven months later, he received another difficult diagnosis: cancer of the tongue and throat caused by HPV. He continues to openly share his experiences with his health, and is especially grateful for his close relationship with John.

Dave wrote a touching letter to a close friend after appearing on the Today show last month.

In an Instagram video, John shared that he recognized a heartfelt letter. It read, ‘Dear John, I love you and I hope I get to see you soon. We need to laugh and be really immature together. Love you, love you, love you. Your brother, Dave.’ John expressed his love and pride for his brother Dave, adding that Dave is doing wonderfully and inspires everyone.
