LOVB is seeing ongoing spikes in viewership—and for good reason.
League One Volleyball, or LOVB (pronounced “love”), launched in 2025 and has rapidly become one of the fastest-growing women’s sports leagues in the U.S. Beyond its six professional teams, LOVB also has programs for girls as young as 12, making it a really compelling league to follow on USA Network.
LOVB Houston middle blocker Amber Igiede recently told TopMob News, “Just tune in to LOVB – it’s professional women’s sports in the US! What more reason do you need?”
Need we say more? Well, just in case, Amber did.
She also shared her love for volleyball, calling it one of the greatest sports. She enjoys how it combines teamwork with the chance for individuals to shine, creating a really dynamic team environment. She noted the sport’s growing popularity and the inspiring athletes who play it.
Amber draws inspiration from volleyball players Foluke Akinradewo and Robyn Ah Mow, and people are now starting to compare her game to theirs.
She’s quickly becoming a prominent athlete – a two-time All-American at the University of Hawaii, a member of the U.S. National Team, and a professional player in Italy. Now, she’s also a strong contender for the 2028 Olympic team.
But for the 25-year-old, it’s one step at a time, as it’s always been.

She emphasized the importance of clearly defining your goals, explaining that having a goal gives you something to strive for and work towards.
While continuing to concentrate on her performance, Amber is also enjoying the opportunity to be a positive influence. She recently shared a video on Instagram of herself posing with a group of excited young fans.
She admitted it was moving to talk about, explaining she used to be very self-conscious about her arms. She said women often worry about their bodies and how they look in clothes, particularly athletes. She’s had strong arms since she was a young child, and it’s something she’s come to terms with.
I’m still early in my career, and I’ve found success by keeping the overall objective in mind, while also breaking it down into smaller, manageable steps and tackling them one at a time.
She started with simple goals: just making the volleyball team in fifth grade, then the varsity team in eighth. Throughout high school, she aimed to play in college. And, of course, she succeeded at every step.
Okay, so, seriously, ever since I started following her, she’s always talked about wanting to play for the USA national team – it’s like, her ultimate dream! But what I love is how she breaks it down. She doesn’t just get lost in that huge goal. She sets smaller ones, like making the varsity team, and she says those little victories are so important. It’s how she stays motivated and doesn’t get totally stressed out. It’s honestly so inspiring to see how she handles everything!
Amber says she’s focusing on enjoying the present, even though she’s aware the Olympics are still a ways off. However, she’s also not afraid to let herself imagine achieving her goals and potentially competing.

While continuing to concentrate on her performance, Amber is also enjoying the fact that she’s become a role model. She recently shared a video on Instagram of herself posing with a group of her young fans.
She admitted it brought tears to her eyes, recalling how self-conscious she used to be about her arms. Like many women, she often worried about her appearance – how clothes fit, and her body in general – especially as an athlete. She explained she’s had strong arms since she was a little girl.

Rather than focusing on things she couldn’t alter, Amber accepted and celebrated her body, recognizing everything it had enabled her to accomplish.
As women, and especially as athletes, we face a lot of challenges. I think it’s empowering to celebrate both our strength – physically and mentally – and our softer sides. It’s about embracing all aspects of who we are, like enjoying time with friends, cooking, and simply being at home. Ultimately, that balance adds richness and depth to our lives.
You can watch Amber play with LOVB Houston on USA Network every Wednesday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Or, if you’d prefer to see her play live, tickets are available on the LOVB website.
