All 19 Marvel Characters Confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday Who Haven’t Been in a Trailer Yet

Though Avengers: Doomsday isn’t scheduled to release until late 2026, Marvel Studios is already building excitement. Over the last month, they’ve released a series of short trailers, each highlighting a different character or team from the movie. These trailers weren’t just for promotion; Marvel strategically used them to confirm Chris Evans’ return as Captain America, hint at a powerful emotional story for Thor, officially introduce the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and reveal that the Fantastic Four will be traveling to Earth-616 and meeting the people of Wakanda.

The trailers for Avengers: Doomsday show just how huge the movie is going to be, but Marvel fans suspect there’s much more to come. Last year, Marvel announced the cast with a livestream event, revealing 27 actors who would be part of the film. While some of those actors have appeared in the trailers, many haven’t. Here’s a list of confirmed characters from Doomsday who haven’t been shown in any teaser footage yet.

  • Sue Storm
  • Sam Wilson
  • Bucky Barnes
  • Ant-Man
  • John Walker
  • Shang-Chi
  • Yelena Belova
  • Hank McCoy/Beast
  • Bob Reynolds/Sentry
  • Joaquin Torres
  • Johnny Storm
  • Red Guardian
  • Ghost
  • Loki
  • Nightcrawler
  • Mystique
  • Gambit
  • Reed Richards
  • Doctor Doom

When Will We See More Avengers: Doomsday Trailers?

Originally, it was announced there would be four short teasers for the upcoming film. With the recent release of the Black Panther/Fantastic Four trailer, we’ve now seen all four promised teasers. However, information from Korea’s media ratings board suggests there might be seven total, meaning three more teasers could still be released. It’s important to remember that this hasn’t been officially confirmed.

It’s unclear whether the additional trailers recently listed by Korea’s ratings board are entirely new, or just slightly different versions of trailers we’ve already seen. Studios often create multiple trailer cuts with varying lengths to fit different movie previews. That’s likely what’s happening here. Soon after the Black Panther/Fantastic Four teaser appeared online, directors Joe and Anthony Russo hinted that the four teasers released so far are actually “clues.” Their recent comments suggest this initial wave of Doomsday marketing might be complete, meaning we probably won’t see any more teasers.

If we don’t see a new trailer for Doomsday next week, it makes you wonder when we’ll get another glimpse of the movie. The Super Bowl in early February seems like a perfect opportunity, as Disney often uses the event to promote its Marvel films. Last year, they debuted The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer, and in 2024, the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer broke records. However, Doomsday isn’t releasing until December, and those previous trailers were for summer movies. Disney might be hesitant to spend a lot on a Super Bowl ad for a film that’s still ten months away, especially with Spider-Man: Brand New Day also needing marketing attention in July.

Marvel’s decision to show trailers for Doomsday before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash signals they’re comfortable starting promotion for the film well in advance. While Doomsday is currently the focus, we might soon see marketing efforts shift to Brand New Day. It made sense that no Spider-Man trailer was released during the initial Doomsday push, as it risked being overlooked. Now that the first Doomsday trailers are out, Marvel has a chance to pause and then launch the Brand New Day campaign. This likely means we won’t see more Doomsday footage until the summer, when it can be shown before big Disney releases like The Mandalorian & Grogu and Toy Story 5.

Which Missing Marvel Characters Will Appear in Future Avengers: Doomsday Trailers?

Out of all the potential characters, Doctor Doom seems most likely to appear in the next trailer. It’s probable that the trailer will center on Doom as the main villain and give viewers a general idea of the movie’s story. While Marvel is currently keeping Doom under wraps, they’ll almost certainly feature the character heavily in their marketing throughout 2026. With Robert Downey Jr. playing Doom, Marvel will want to highlight his involvement and performance to attract a large audience. Fans are especially excited to see Downey as the villain, and a reveal of his portrayal could be the biggest moment in the next trailer.

We’ll likely see most of the missing heroes before the Doomsday movie comes out, as Marvel revealed most of the main cast in trailers for Avengers: Infinity War – even if some appearances were just quick shots. It would be a good idea for Marvel to use a similar strategy for Doomsday to let everyone know who’s in the film and what to expect. Since not everyone saw the chairs livestream reveal, many viewers might not realize just how many characters will be in Doomsday.

Now that we’ve seen character-focused teasers, Marvel still has plenty of heroes to showcase. We haven’t seen the New Avengers in any Doomsday trailers yet, and the Thunderbolts post-credits scene suggests they’ll be important. It’s been a while since Shang-Chi appeared in the MCU (since 2021), so including him in future trailers would be a great way to remind audiences of his character as a more mature hero. Marvel can also use those trailers to officially confirm actors like Benedict Cumberbatch, who weren’t mentioned during the recent livestream. Everything suggests Doctor Strange will return, but Marvel hasn’t confirmed it yet.

It will be fascinating to see how well Marvel’s marketing for Doomsday resonates with audiences. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a different spot than it was in 2017, when excitement for Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame was at its peak. It’s clear Marvel is trying to relaunch the franchise with Doomsday, and the early teasers reflect this – they focus on beloved characters like Steve Rogers, Thor, and the X-Men. The latest trailer also highlighted the popular Black Panther series and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which was Marvel’s biggest hit last year. These teasers are generating buzz and keeping Doomsday top of mind, so we can expect Marvel to go all-out with promotion in the coming months.
