A highly-rated PlayStation 3 exclusive, and one of the best games from the fantastic year of 2010, is currently available for only $1.99 on Steam. 2010 was an incredible year for gaming, with releases like Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, Super Mario Galaxy 2, God of War III, and Halo Reach. With so many great titles, some gems from that era didn’t get the attention they deserved – games that would be major releases today. Among them was the best game yet from developer Quantic Dream.
It’s been eight years since Quantic Dream’s last game, Detroit: Become Human. While it’s been their most popular release so far, many fans actually consider Heavy Rain, which came out in 2010, to be the studio’s best work.
Quantic Dream’s Best Game to Date
If you’ve never experienced Heavy Rain, now’s a great time! It’s currently 90% off on Steam for just $2 if you have an account. Plus, it’s been verified to work well on the Steam Deck.
If you didn’t play it when it first came out, this game was originally published by PlayStation while the development team worked closely with Sony. When it launched on the PS3, it received very positive reviews, earning a score of 87 on Metacritic. Later, it became available on PS4 in 2016 and on PC in 2019.
The game features four main characters who become entangled in the case of the Origami Killer, a dangerous serial killer. Players shape the story through numerous choices, leading to multiple different endings. While story-focused games with limited gameplay aren’t always popular, Heavy Rain was a huge success, selling millions of copies and becoming a standout title in the genre, particularly when it was first released. Even now, in 2026, it remains enjoyable, although the writing can occasionally feel weak, as is sometimes the case with games from Quantic Dream. Despite that, the game boasts a compelling overall story.
Lowest Price for Heavy Rain to Date
You can get Heavy Rain for the lowest price ever right now, both on Steam and the PlayStation Store. We don’t anticipate it getting cheaper, as Quantic Dream rarely discounts their games by more than 90%, and that’s unlikely to change. PlayStation also doesn’t typically offer deeper discounts, but they no longer publish the game.
