Sean Penn Steps Out for Rare Date With Girlfriend Valeria Nicov

Sean Penn is having one outing after another.

Just three days after going to the 2026 Golden Globes, the Oscar-winning actor had a relaxed date in Santa Monica, California, with his girlfriend, Valeria Nicov.

Sean and Valeria were seen holding hands on January 14th. The couple, who first appeared together publicly at the Marrakech International Film Festival in November 2024, dressed casually for the outing. The 65-year-old actor wore a navy jacket, white shirt, gray pants, and sneakers, while the 30-year-old model opted for an all-black ensemble of a peacoat, joggers, and tennis shoes.

This relaxed outing was unusual for the couple, as they rarely appear together in public. Valeria wasn’t with the actor – known for his role in Milk – at the Golden Globes earlier this week, where he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Even though he lost to Stellan Skarsgård, Sean still seemed to enjoy himself. He recently finalized his divorce from Leila George in 2022, after a two-year marriage, and was even seen laughing at jokes made about him by the host, Nikki Glaser.

The comedian joked that while everyone in town is focused on anti-aging, Sean Penn seems to be aiming for a different look – transforming into a stylish leather handbag. He then laughed at his own joke, calling the idea ‘hot’ and ‘good’.

Nikki also focused on Sean’s work as a “devoted humanitarian” around the world. 

She joked that while many actors say they care, Sean Penn actually goes to the most troubled areas of the world – and even indulges in cocaine while he’s there. This comment got a laugh from the actor she was speaking to. She then added that she had gotten permission to make the joke from Penn’s friends, Charlie Sheen and Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán.

Nikki delivered some funny one-liners and really connected with the audience, but she later shared that she had even more jokes about Sean that she didn’t end up telling.

During her appearance on The Howard Stern Show on January 13th, she jokingly read from a list, suggesting Sean Penn’s nomination was likely for his prominent neck veins. She then added that he looked like the last tree standing in a rainforest, implying a strong and defiant presence.
