The Marvel Cinematic Universe is building towards a huge conclusion to its Multiverse Saga in 2026, and the upcoming year is already packed with anticipated releases. Marvel movies have consistently been a major force in cinema, regularly achieving strong box office results and sparking widespread conversation. 2026 promises to be a particularly important year for the MCU, with several films planned that could significantly impact the future of the franchise, including some that fans have been waiting for a long time.
Beyond the main Marvel Cinematic Universe, 2026 will also bring several other exciting Marvel projects. Keep an eye out for Spider-Noir debuting this year, along with new seasons of X-Men ’97 and Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. While these aren’t part of the core MCU storyline, they’re still highly anticipated. With so much buzz already surrounding the official MCU releases, 2026 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Marvel fans.
6) VisionQuest

Despite being in development, VisionQuest hasn’t generated much buzz among Marvel fans. After Vision seemingly died in Avengers: Infinity War, he was brought back in WandaVision, suggesting he’d continue to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, five years later, Vision hasn’t appeared, and VisionQuest has been confirmed with little fanfare. Currently scheduled for a late 2026 release, the show promises appearances by several interesting Marvel characters, including the return of the villain Ultron, but it’s been overshadowed by other, more heavily promoted MCU projects.
5) Daredevil: Born Again (Season 2)

Fans were thrilled when Daredevil joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his story continues in 2026 with the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. While it doesn’t have quite the same buzz as the first season, the new season promises to be just as thrilling and successful, especially since the first season ended with a major cliffhanger. Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 4th.
4) Wonder Man

With its planned release as the first big Marvel Cinematic Universe project of 2026, excitement for Wonder Man is building. The show will introduce the hero, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, alongside new characters and some returning favorites. The recently released trailer has increased buzz, though other MCU projects slated for 2026 are currently generating even more anticipation. Wonder Man is set to premiere on Disney+ on January 27th.
3) Punisher

Okay, so the buzz is building for a Punisher project slated for 2026. After seeing Jon Bernthal wonderfully step back into the role of Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again, everyone’s been practically begging for more. Honestly, Marvel’s been incredibly tight-lipped about this one – we’ve seen almost nothing in the way of trailers or even basic details. But despite the lack of promotion, it’s already shaping up to be one of the most eagerly awaited releases of the year, just based on the character’s popularity and Bernthal’s performance.
2) Spider-Man: Brand New Day

One of the most eagerly awaited superhero films of 2026 is Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Picking up after the events of No Way Home, this movie will launch a fresh storyline for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Despite limited promotion so far, announcements about the cast – including the introduction of Mephisto to the Marvel Cinematic Universe – have created a lot of buzz around Brand New Day. It’s scheduled to hit theaters on July 31st.
1) Avengers: Doomsday

Everyone is incredibly excited for Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently the most anticipated Marvel movie of 2026. The recent cast announcements and trailers have shown it’s going to be a huge film, featuring a massive number of Marvel characters and a storyline that could significantly change the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. With a release date set for December 18th, Doomsday is quickly becoming a must-see event.
