Kevin Smith is known for his work with DC Comics’ most popular heroes, especially his popular run writing Green Arrow. He’s also written several Batman stories and recently contributed to Deadpool/Batman #1. Now, he’s turning his attention to Superman, and will be tackling one of the Man of Steel’s famous enemies in his newest project.
DC Comics is launching a new four-issue series called Bizarro: Year None, featuring Kevin Smith (known for his work on various DC titles), Eric Carrasco (Supergirl), and artist Nick Pitarra (The Manhattan Projects). The story will explore the origins of the strange and powerful Bizarro, but told from the perspectives of Jimmy Olsen and Perry White. DC promises this will be the ultimate and complete version of Bizarro’s backstory, making it a must-read for fans of Superman’s unusual counterpart.
Bizarro: Year None Will Showcase The Classic Superman Villain In A Brand New Way
DC has given fans a sneak peek at the upcoming series, highlighting that Smith and Carrasco are combining humor, emotion, and imaginative storytelling with a character who’s been a beloved favorite for years. They also shared that Pitarra’s striking and detailed artwork will balance the series’ unusual atmosphere, creating a version of Bizarro’s world that’s both recognizable and strangely disturbing.
The comic series Bizarro: Year None sends Jimmy Olsen and Perry White on a space adventure to a strange new dimension. This dimension is a twisted reflection of Metropolis, where the Daily Planet isn’t just a newspaper – it’s a deeply held belief. Perry and Jimmy investigate the origins of this bizarre world, eventually uncovering the identity of its creator. They’ll then have to decide if this person is a harmless fan, a dangerous force, or something else entirely.
The first comic book in the series, Bizarro: Year None, will be available in stores on April 1st, 2026, with new issues released through July. The debut issue will be 32 pages long and cost $4.99. It will feature multiple cover designs by artists Frank Quitely, Fernando Pasarin, and Ibrahim Moustafa, along with a special foil cover by Pitarra.
