DC’s Absolute Universe has been a huge success, marking a significant shift for the company. Since the release of Absolute Batman in late 2024, the entire Absolute line has consistently been at the top of the comic book sales charts, and that momentum continues. Simultaneously, DC’s main universe has been leading up to a major event, ‘DC K.O.’, hinted at through the ‘All In’ storyline. Now, the long-awaited crossover between these two universes has finally arrived, revealing the source of the evil that has reshaped their world: Darkseid.
The comic series DC K.O. hinted at the arrival of powerful, evil versions of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, known as the Absolute Trinity. The story revealed that the heroes of the main DC Universe were destined to lose the tournament, as the outcome was predetermined. Darkseid’s three most powerful followers were the main reason, acting as his secret champions. These Absolute versions of the heroes aren’t the familiar good guys; they’re monstrous beings created to win at any cost. They appeared near the end of DC K.O. #3 and have already begun transforming Earth into a nightmarish version of Darkseid’s home world.
Absolute Monsters Make Themselves Known

The third round of the King Omega tournament narrowed the field from eight competitors to just four. These final contenders fought in teams of two, each choosing an ally from outside the competition. Ultimately, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, and the Joker emerged victorious. After saying goodbye to their partners, the Heart of Apokalips instantly transported them to the next round. However, instead of a separate dimension, they arrived on Earth, which had been almost completely transformed into the new Apokalips.
Fortunately, the Titans had previously moved most of Earth’s population to safety, so very few people were hurt. However, Darkseid completely destroyed human civilization, replacing it with his fiery pits and machines. The Earth was almost completely changed, its protectors were missing, and four individuals were responsible. Now, the Absolute Trinity and Booster Gold stood ready to face them, declared by the Heart as Earth’s new champions. Booster Gold, controlled by Darkseid, had already defeated the World Forger and Time Trapper. These villains used their Omega Energy to speed up Earth’s destruction, and were prepared to finish the job.
Not the Absolute Trinity We Know

The versions of the Absolute Trinity serving as Darkseid’s Horsemen are very different from the originals. They appear much more monstrous, with glowing red eyes featuring Omega symbols instead of pupils and sharper, more corrupted features. Their skin is grey and covered in lines, making them look like extensions of Darkseid himself. This, along with their role as Darkseid’s weapons, suggests these aren’t the real Absolute Trinity, but rather copies created by him.
The original heroes – Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman – are each facing their own struggles, and so far, only Batman and Wonder Woman have teamed up. They’re completely unaware of Darkseid or the threat he poses, or what he’s already done. While these corrupted versions of the heroes could be future versions of themselves, it seems unlikely considering how far into the future that would be. However, that very possibility makes them incredibly dangerous. They possess all the powers and strategic minds of the world’s greatest heroes, but have been shaped by a truly horrific upbringing. They’re immensely powerful – the sheer amount of Omega Energy they wield makes them the most formidable opponents the tournament has seen yet.
