Traitors’ Monét X Change Reveals Secret Pact With Candiace

Monét X Change will never trust a Housewife again.

A contestant on season four of Traitors shared that he and Candiace Dillard Bassett had a secret agreement. However, Candiace ultimately betrayed and eliminated him during the January 15th episodes, following Porsha Williams’ removal from the game.

Honestly, it was a really tough moment for us. But my friend said something that really resonated – she just knew this other woman was someone you could truly rely on, a ‘Faithful’ person, as she put it. And in that moment, it hit me – my friend was one too. It was a beautiful realization about her character.

And that’s what led to his alliance with the Real Housewives of Potomac star.

Monét explained that she and Candiace had made an agreement. She told Candiace, ‘We both don’t know who can be trusted, but because I trust you, I promise that if I’m secretly working against the group, I won’t reveal your name. And if I’m on the side of the Faithful, I also won’t bring up your name as someone to suspect.’

Honestly, when she said ‘yes’ to me, I just knew Candiace was going to have my back no matter what! I really thought we were a ‘ride or die’ pair, you know? It felt like a real connection, and I was so ready to be in her corner forever.

So, when Candiace, along with her teammates Lisa Rinna and Rob Rausch, eliminated Monét, he was shocked to discover she was actually the opposing player they’d been trying to defeat.

I was completely surprised when I heard about Candiace! I kept thinking, ‘Candiace? The one who just had a baby?’ It really shocked me, both her and Rob. But Lisa? I wasn’t surprised by her at all.

In fact, Monét had also developed a bond with Rob that wasn’t shown onscreen.

I hadn’t reached the point of fully trusting him like Candiace does, but I did trust him a good amount. That’s why I think he seemed so surprised when they were discussing me in the turret, and Lisa was talking about me. I believe he didn’t want to betray me, but he felt he had to side with the other Traitors. You can’t really go against the group in that situation.

Despite being eliminated after sharing his suspicions about Lisa with Candiace, the RuPaul’s Drag Race star doesn’t regret trusting her. His revelation ultimately led the Traitors to target him for removal.

He explained he wasn’t sorry for voicing his concerns, saying the situation was incredibly difficult. He described feeling desperate while competing for resources and trying to build connections, like trying to hold onto anything he could. He felt those loyal to the cause were simply making the most of very limited opportunities.

His biggest takeaway, however?

Looking back, I really regret ever trusting anyone from the Housewives franchise,” Monét admitted. “They’ve shown time and time again on Bravo that they’re willing to betray and deceive, and they just aren’t trustworthy people.

He continued, “If I ever get back inside the castle, I’m going to pursue a Housewife. It doesn’t matter who they are – whether they’re a Traitor, Loyal servant, cleaner, or greeter – I’ll make sure they leave.”
