I’ve noticed Fox is shuffling its TV schedule around, especially when it comes to animation. They’re really focusing on shows like Family Guy and American Dad!, and it looks like we’ll be seeing new episodes of both in 2026. In fact, Family Guy has shifted from premiering in the fall to airing during the midseason, which is a change I’ve been watching happen over the last few years as Fox builds up its ‘Animation Domination’ block.
Both Family Guy and American Dad! are coming back with new episodes in late February. To celebrate, Fox has released new posters for both shows. This return is especially significant for American Dad!, which is moving from TBS to Fox for its new season.
When Does American Dad Return to Fox?
New episodes of American Dad! are coming to Fox on Sunday, February 22nd at 9:00 PM ET, with streaming available on Hulu the next day. This premiere kicks off a huge four-season renewal for the show – a similar deal recently made for other popular animated series like The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers. It’s been 12 years since American Dad! first moved to Fox, making this the first new season on the network in over a decade, and likely a long-awaited return for fans.
This season, American Dad! is celebrating a major milestone – its 400th episode! The show will also feature a classic Stan Smith storyline: dealing with clones. When Does Family Guy Return to Fox in 2026?
New episodes of Family Guy return on Sunday, February 15th at 9:30 PM Eastern Time. Starting February 22nd at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, Family Guy will air two new episodes each week, alongside fresh episodes of American Dad and Universal Basic Guys. The season will kick off with the show’s 450th episode, and a major storyline will finally see Stewie and Lois having a real conversation for the first time.
