While a rating doesn’t guarantee a game will launch, it’s a strong indication that a port is likely happening and isn’t just speculation.

Hi-Fi Rush Has Been Rated for Switch Again After Years of Uncertainty

Hi-Fi Rush unexpectedly arrived on Xbox Series X|S and PC in January 2023 and quickly became a fan favorite. Its unique gameplay, which combines action with rhythm, along with its vibrant visuals and popular music, made it a standout Xbox game of the year. When it first came out, however, it wasn’t available on Nintendo Switch, likely due to existing agreements or challenges with the Switch’s hardware.

Things shifted in March 2024 when Hi-Fi Rush became available on PlayStation 5. This release came about two years after the game initially launched on Xbox, representing its first significant move outside of the Xbox platform. The PS5 version sparked speculation that a Nintendo Switch version could also be coming, as the game’s bright style and classic arcade gameplay seemed well-suited for the system.

Now, Tango Gameworks is owned by Krafton, and they are handling the game’s publishing. This new ownership, along with fewer limitations on which platforms it can be played on, could make releasing a version for the Nintendo Switch much simpler.

This move fits with a growing pattern of games that used to be exclusive to Xbox becoming available on other platforms. Hi-Fi Rush has already shown it can be successful even when played outside of the Xbox world, and releasing it on the Nintendo Switch would let even more people enjoy it – many of whom have been requesting it since it first came out.

While Krafton, Nintendo, and Tango Gameworks haven’t officially confirmed anything, a recent PEGI rating adds to the growing evidence that Hi-Fi Rush could be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
