Sophie Turner Shares Unique Perk of Being a Young Mom

Sophie Turner is getting real about having kids in her 20s.

Sophie Turner, known for her role in Game of Thrones, recently discussed the advantages of becoming a mother young. She shares two daughters, 5-year-old Willa and 3-year-old Delphine, with her former husband, Joe Jonas.

“It feels good,” 29-year-old Sophie told The Guardian in a January 16th interview. “I’m not stressing about getting older and having kids.”

And having her little girls also allowed her to focus on family life.

She explained that taking a break felt necessary to prioritize her own well-being, as she’d spent a long time playing a role. She found being at home and focusing on creating a comfortable space incredibly fulfilling.

But her much-needed break from acting also presented career challenges.

Honestly, it’s been so tough watching her! It feels like everything just…stopped for a while, and Covid definitely made it worse. She’s had to completely start over, you know? It’s like rebuilding her whole career from the ground up, and I’m just rooting for her every step of the way.

The X-Men: Dark Phoenix actress explained that it’s easy to underestimate how crucial consistent work is for an actor, and she felt her career had lost some steam.

Joe, 36, and Sophie got divorced in September 2024, but they’ve managed to maintain a friendly relationship as they co-parent their children. This is especially notable considering they had a difficult custody dispute in 2023.

Joe recently shared that he and his ex-partner have a great coparenting relationship, something he feels very thankful for. He also expressed how happy he is that his daughters have Sophie, whom he describes as an amazing mother, in their lives. He shared this during a conversation with Jay Shetty on the On Purpose Live Tour in May 2025.

The Jonas Brothers member also shared how Sophie is a wonderful role model for their daughters.

He said he hopes his daughters will grow up admiring strong women. He wants them to be open-minded, compassionate, and confident – to feel capable of achieving anything they set their minds to, no matter where they are.

Despite now agreeing on how to raise their children, Sophie has openly shared her regrets about the way their divorce was handled.

She expressed sadness about how things turned out, particularly for her children, telling British Vogue in May 2024 that they are the ones most affected. Despite the difficulties, she believes they’re handling the situation as well as possible and remains optimistic about finding a resolution. She emphasized that Joe is a wonderful father, and that’s her priority.

Only a few weeks after Sophie Turner announced her separation from Joe Jonas in September 2023, following four years of marriage, the Game of Thrones actress seemed to be moving on. She was spotted enjoying a night out with her friend Taylor Swift in New York City.

Following their divorce filing, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas engaged in a difficult legal dispute. Turner sued Jonas, requesting their daughters, Willa and Delphine, be returned to England. Jonas’s representative called the lawsuit inaccurate, but the couple later reached a temporary agreement in October.

Later that month, Sophie hinted at starting a new romantic relationship and began a fresh phase in her life.

Joe mentioned he and Sophie have become friends and are now successfully co-parenting their daughters together.

During a May 2025 appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose Live Tour, Jonas Brothers singer spoke about his hopes for his daughters. He said he wants them to have strong female role models and expressed how lucky they are to have his wife, Sophie, as their mother, calling it a ‘dream come true.’
