The Batman Part 2 Will Repeat A Winning Quality From Robert Pattinson’s First Movie

The upcoming sequel, The Batman – Part II, is continuing a trend that made the first film so successful. Director Matt Reeves’ The Batman offered a fresh take on the classic hero, which was a hit with both critics and audiences. The first movie received an 85% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and earned approximately $772 million worldwide.

As a huge Batman fan, I was really blown away by this movie. It felt so dark and realistic, really capturing the grimness of Gotham. Robert Pattinson is Batman – he perfectly balances the character’s fighting ability with his incredible detective skills. It’s a fantastic take on the character, honestly.

The movie’s central mystery was truly engaging, and the fantastic cast of villains, allies, and complex characters made it even better. Although The Riddler was the main antagonist, the story skillfully introduced other villains, making the plot increasingly captivating. With the recent cast announcements for the sequel, it seems Part II is planning to keep this successful approach.

The Batman Part 2 Is Using Multiple Batman Villains

Batman is famous for having incredible villains, and the movie The Batman smartly featured several of them. The Riddler was the primary antagonist, targeting and killing corrupt leaders in Gotham while challenging Batman with riddles. Characters like Carmine Falcone and The Penguin also played significant roles, becoming involved in The Riddler’s plans.

The film’s use of several villains not only made the story more captivating, but also helped create a rich and believable version of Gotham City. This approach allowed for a detailed look into the city’s criminal side, something that continues in the Penguin series. This interconnectedness makes the world feel expansive, much like a classic Batman comic.

While the next movie doesn’t have a main villain officially announced, several characters are expected to return or make their debut. Colin Farrell will reprise his role as the Penguin, having established his criminal leadership in his own TV series. Additionally, Barry Keoghan is confirmed to return as the Joker, though it’s unclear how big his part will be, according to Variety.

Sebastian Stan is joining the cast and is expected to play Harvey Dent, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. There are also rumors that Scarlett Johansson will play his wife, Gilda. Harvey Dent starts as an upright lawyer, but a tragic accident that disfigures him leads him to become the villain Two-Face.

The casting of Dent in The Batman – Part II makes perfect sense, given the first film’s focus on police corruption and Dent’s well-known transformation into the vengeful Two-Face. Gilda is also a strong contender for a villainous role in the sequel, particularly if the story draws inspiration from The Long Halloween.

While Stan’s character might not become Two-Face in the next Batman movie, his inclusion hints that it’s a possibility for the future. It will be interesting to see how the villains Joker, Penguin, and Two-Face could be connected in The Batman – Part II. However, the first film showed that the story can succeed without being overcrowded, and this adds to the excitement.
