Disney+ Users Have Less Than a Week Left To Watch One of the Worst Horror Movies of All Time

For every truly great horror movie like The Shining, there’s a not-so-great one like The Bye Bye Man. The horror genre has plenty of failures alongside its successes. Films like Manos: The Hands of Fate, Jaws: The Revenge, and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey are often cited as some of the worst, but an even less impressive horror film is leaving Hulu and Disney+ soon.

As a huge horror fan, I have to say, Jeepers Creepers: Reborn is a real disappointment. It currently holds a 0% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes – putting it at the very bottom of 2022’s horror releases! And audiences aren’t much kinder, giving it only a 7% score. This movie was meant to revive the Jeepers Creepers franchise, but it just didn’t work. The story follows Laine, who starts having creepy visions connected to the legend of The Creeper while attending a horror convention. It’s been available on Disney+ through the bundle with Hulu, but it’s leaving both platforms on January 26th, and honestly, I won’t miss it.

Jeepers Creepers: Reborn Wasted the Franchise’s Potential

As a horror fan, I’ve seen a lot of legacy sequels lately, and let me tell you, Jeepers Creepers: Reborn is right near the bottom. We had great revivals with films like the 2018 Halloween and the recent Scream, movies that genuinely understood what made the originals work. Reborn, unfortunately, completely misses the mark. It’s not even enjoyably bad; it’s just…bad. It feels like a real disservice to the original Jeepers Creepers, butchering the creature and the established story, and failing to capture anything that made the first film so effective.

Jeepers Creepers: Reborn felt like a rushed and uninspired attempt to revive the series, and it failed spectacularly. Critics panned the movie for its weak story, poor acting, low-budget feel, uninspired creature, and complete lack of scares. Many described it as a cheap imitation, even worse than the already poorly received Jeepers Creepers 3. Steven Warner of In Review Online called it “an utterly painful affair,” while Jeffrey M. Anderson from Common Sense Media wished it could be “erased for good.” Collider’s review stated that everything about the film was embarrassing and made even finishing it a struggle.

Where to Stream Jeepers Creepers: Reborn After It Leaves Disney+ and Hulu?

Similar to the creature in the original Jeepers Creepers films, which disappears for 23 years, the movie Jeepers Creepers: Reborn is leaving Disney+ and Hulu. It’s not available on any other major streaming services now, and there are no plans for it to appear on another platform this month. While it might return to streaming someday, it’s uncertain if that will happen in 23 years. Horror fans can still watch it on Disney+ with Hulu and Hulu until January 26th, and it will continue to be available to rent or buy digitally after that.
