A popular, but sometimes debated, romance anime on Crunchyroll is returning with new episodes later this year. Crunchyroll recently shared a release timeframe and a sneak peek at what’s in store. With lots of new anime planned for the rest of the year – including releases already hitting as part of the Winter schedule – fans can now look forward to another wave of shows arriving this Spring.
I’ve been watching the reaction to Rent-a-Girlfriend, and it’s definitely become a pretty divisive anime. It’s been running for a while now, and people are still talking about it! Good news for fans – Season 5 is officially coming in April. They recently released a new poster to get everyone hyped for the upcoming season.
When Does Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 Come Out?

The fifth season of Rent-a-Girlfriend is expected to premiere in April as part of the Spring 2024 anime lineup, though an exact release date hasn’t been revealed yet. You can currently watch the first four seasons exclusively on Crunchyroll. While Crunchyroll hasn’t confirmed whether it will stream the new season, it’s very likely they will, given they’ve hosted the show previously.
The upcoming season of Rent-a-Girlfriend has a slightly unusual start. Originally, season four was planned to cover the Hawaii Arc in two parts. However, the production team has decided to reclassify the second half of that arc as the beginning of season five, which will premiere this spring. The original manga series, like Dragon Ball, is quite lengthy.
What to Know for Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5

The fifth season of Rent-a-Girlfriend will bring back the original voice actors, including Shun Horie as Kazuya Kinoshita, Sora Amamiya as Chizuru Mizuhara, Aoi Yuki as Mami Nanami, Nao Toyama as Ruka Sarashina, Rie Takahashi as Sumi Sakurasawa, and Yu Serizawa as Mini Yaemori. The same team and studio that worked on season four will be returning, suggesting a smooth continuation of the story.
I’ve noticed Rent-a-Girlfriend has been stirring up a lot of debate since it started, and it seems to be getting more intense. It’s frustrating as a viewer because, after several seasons, the main characters still haven’t made their relationships official. Plus, there’s been criticism of the creator, with some fans accusing them of putting personal preferences into the story. It looks like we’re in for even more of this as the anime goes on.
