Just hours before her husband, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, publicly announced a major falling out with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, and stated he didn’t want to repair their relationship, the actress, Lola, seemed to share a subtle message about family connections.

Nicola, age 31, shared a mirror selfie on Instagram on January 18th, wearing a blue bikini top. The photo showed a tattoo on her side, which the Daily Mail reported is a Yiddish phrase meaning “family first.”

The next day, 26-year-old Brooklyn Beckham publicly discussed the long-standing conflict with his parents. He claimed they consistently tried to create distance between him and his wife, Nicola, throughout their relationship, even at their wedding in April 2022. His parents also share children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14.

He explained on Instagram that his wife has repeatedly been treated poorly by his family, despite their efforts to build a unified relationship. He also said his mother has consistently invited past romantic interests into their lives, seemingly to cause discomfort for both him and his wife.

Brooklyn also claimed that David, age 50, and Victoria, 51, seemed to care more about advertising and sponsorships than anything else.

He said maintaining the ‘Brand Beckham’ – their public image – is the priority. He feels ‘family love’ is now measured by social media posts and willingness to immediately drop everything for staged family photos, even if it means neglecting work commitments.

Therefore, Brooklyn mentioned that he and Nicola intended to create their own home with values different from what they were used to.
