A fresh judge is set to join the scene at The Great Celebrity Bake Off! According to reports, Cherish Finden is expected to take up her position in the upcoming season, replacing Prue Leith who is stepping down from the celebrity edition next year.
Previously this year, the celebrity version made a comeback, with Caroline Waldegrave sharing judging duties alongside Paul Hollywood. However, it appears that next season might feature a well-known face other than the one we’re accustomed to.
As a devoted fan of Bake Off, I’ve watched with great admiration since its debut in 2016 – Bake Off: The Professionals, that is. You might recognize Finden, the esteemed judge who graces our screens during this highly anticipated competition. Her impressive resume includes stints at renowned establishments like Raffles Hotel and The Sheraton. Currently, she’s making magic in the kitchen as the executive pastry chef at The Langham. A true testament to her unwavering passion for the art of baking!

Instead of hosting the celebrity version of the program, Prue Leith chose to withdraw because of its intense production timetable; however, she continues to serve as a judge in the regular, non-celebrity version of the show.
In an interview with The Mail on Sunday earlier this year, Leith mentioned that he is participating in Bake Off this year, but he isn’t certain if it will be his final one. He suggested that he may decide to quit next year as he feels it’s time for him to step down.
This year, I plan to take things as they come, as I seem to be feeling more mature compared to last year.
It now takes me more time than usual to perform simple tasks such as getting out of a chair. I also feel uncomfortable taking large steps without a handrail. Two years ago, these issues didn’t bother me at all – I could easily run upstairs. However, I cherish my experience on the Bake Off and don’t want to be asked to leave. Yet, at the same time, I truly enjoy it.
In the most recent season, Leith’s old friend, Waldegrave, stepped in to replace her, and he confessed to being somewhat apprehensive about assuming the role of judge.
However, her apprehension quickly subsided, for upon arrival, she found a warm welcome awaiting her. The assigned shepherd’s hut bore signs that read “Welcome!” and was adorned with blossoms.
Love Productions had a consistently warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout, with everyone from the crew members to Paul being exceptionally kind and friendly. This made me feel at ease.
Celebrity Bake Off will return to Channel 4 next year.
