List of all filming locations of Zombies 4 where it was shot
As a movie buff, I can share that I was thrilled to learn that New Zealand played a significant role in filming Zombies 4. The fictional Mountain College, where our favorite characters Zed and Addison start their new journey, is based on the real-life King’s College located at 41 Golf Avenue in the Ōtāhuhu suburb. It’s amazing to think that such a vibrant setting for our screen adventures is actually an independent secondary boarding and day school!
Established back in 1896, this school has been around for nearly 130 years. Its main focus is on educating boys from ninth grade through high school, Years 9 to 13. However, it also extends its educational opportunities to girls in their senior years, specifically grades 12 and 13.
I had the pleasure of capturing some scenes at Piha Beach as well! This stunning coastal spot, just a short 40-kilometer journey from Auckland, is a go-to destination for locals seeking a day trip. The allure of its raw, breathtaking scenery attracts countless visitors. Notably, it’s also home to the iconic Lion Rock!
Furthermore, the Sir Paul Reeves building at Auckland University of Technology was often used as a film set. Meanwhile, Te Henga, or Bethells Beach, provided a smaller production area. Production crews have also recorded TV series such as Young Hercules and Xena: Warrior Princess in Te Henga.
Additionally, the team behind Zombies 4 ventured to Wellington, extending their shooting there. Significantly, they journeyed for about 30 minutes from the city to a breathtaking coastal route called the Mākara Walkway. This picturesque trail starts and concludes at Mākara Beach, which lies approximately 16 kilometers north of Wellington.
Viewers have the option to watch Zombies 4 on Disney+’s streaming service. At present, the movie boasts an audience rating of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the ensemble of Zombies 4, you’ll find Meg Donnelly, Milo Manheim, Chandler Kinney, Kylee Russell, Freya Skye, Malachi Barton, Julian Lerner, Swayam Bhatia, and Mekonnen Knife.
