Pokémon Go Precious Pals: Full list of challenges and rewards

The Precious Pals event is here in Pokémon Go, and that means a lot of big changes!

Collecting hearts and evolving some Buddy Pokémon is now simpler, but the biggest change is the addition of lots of new challenges.

The Precious Pals Collection Challenges offer special research tasks available only during the event, plus some great rewards!

Pokémon Go Precious Pals: Full list of challenges and rewards

Right now, players can participate in two Precious Pals Collection Challenges. There are also some optional Field Research tasks, and a special Timed Research is available for those who bought the Precious Pals event ticket.

Here are all of the Precious Pals challenges and their rewards:

In Knead of a Friend Collection Challenge

The “In Knead of a Friend” Collection Challenge ends on January 25th, 2026 at 8:00 PM local time. To complete it, you’ll need to collect two specific Pokémon.

  • Fidough – Found in the wild, from research tasks (see down below), or seasonal research tasks (Evolve a Pokémon)
  • Dachsbun – Obtained by evolving Fidough using 50 Fidough Candy

Rewards:

  • 5,000 XP
  • 5,000 Stardust
  • Fidough encounter

Little Friends, Big Potential Collection Challenge

The Little Friends, Big Potential Collection Challenge ends on January 25th, 2026, at 8:00 PM local time. To complete it, you need to collect four specific Pokémon.

  • Magikarp – Found in the wild or from seasonal research tasks (Catch 7 Pokémon)
  • Swablu – Found in the wild or from seasonal research tasks (Earn 7 hearts with your buddy)
  • Wimpod – Found in the wild or from seasonal research tasks (Catch 7 Pokémon)
  • Stufful – Found in the wild or from seasonal research tasks (Catch 7 Pokémon / Catch 7 different species of Pokémon)

Rewards:

  • 5,000 XP
  • 5,000 Stardust
  • Fidough encounter

Precious Pals field research tasks

There are three field research tasks as part of Precious Pals in Pokémon Go. These are:

  • Earn a Candy exploring with your buddy – Reward: Fidough encounter
  • Give your buddy 1 treats – Reward: 5x Razz Berries or 5x Nanab Berries
  • Take a snapshot of your buddy – Reward: Goldeen, Eevee or Pawmi encounter

Precious Pals Timed Research

For just £4.99, players can buy a Precious Pals event ticket and unlock the Precious Pals Timed Research.

There are six challenges, each with its own reward, plus an additional reward for finishing them all.

  • Earn 5 hearts with your buddy – Reward: Wimpod encounter
  • Earn 10 hearts with your buddy – Reward: Swablu encounter
  • Earn 15 hearts with your buddy – Reward: Pancham encounter
  • Feed your buddy 1 time –Reward: Magikarp encounter
  • Feed your buddy 3 times – Reward: Espurr encounter
  • Take a snapshot with your buddy – Reward: 2x Poffins

If you finish all six challenges, you’ll get 1,000 Stardust, a special pose for your avatar (the Heart Avatar Pose), and a chance to catch a Fidough!
