The PS Portal, Sony’s handheld device for streaming PlayStation 5 games, is becoming increasingly popular in the USA, recently achieving its highest number of users among PS5 owners so far.
Recent sales figures from Circana show that by the end of 2025, 7% of PlayStation 5 owners also owned a PS Portal handheld. This is a slight increase from October, when around 5% of PS5 owners had a PS Portal.
The PS Portal handheld has gotten better since its initial release, thanks to updates from Sony as they work on a more advanced version for the PS6. The newest update is a big benefit for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, letting them stream any PS5 game they own directly to the device without needing to download it first.
We previously noted that the recent update significantly improved the PS Portal, calling it a standout accessory for the PS5. Now, it appears to be gaining even more traction, becoming a particularly popular choice for PS5 owners in the USA.
