Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s Moms Make Rare Joint Appearance

Long live Andrea Swift and Donna Kelce’s heartwarming friendship.

The mothers of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who became engaged in August, enjoyed a day out together in Park City, Utah on January 25th while attending the Sundance Film Festival.

The women dressed warmly against the cold weather. Donna, 73, wore a long gray puffer coat, black gloves, and a green scarf. Andrea, 68, had on a black knitted cardigan with white embroidery and matching boots, and she put her arm around the star of Traitors while they posed for a picture.

This lovely get-together isn’t the first time Andrea and Donna have spent quality time together before their children get married. They, along with Patrick Mahomes’ mom, Randi Mahomes, also had dinner together back in September, and Randi shared a cute photo from the outing on social media.

As many fans are aware, Andrea was instrumental in helping Taylor and Travis, 36, connect – she’s the one who initially brought him to Taylor’s attention and sparked their relationship.

She told Taylor, who is also 36, that she was browsing online when she came across a story about a fan who attended one of Taylor’s concerts. This fan made a friendship bracelet and was hoping to meet her, she explained during episode five of The Eras Tour: End of an Era documentary.

As a devoted and protective mother, Andrea needed to be certain that the Super Bowl-winning quarterback was a good match for her daughter.

I asked my cousin Robin, who’s a big Kansas City Chiefs fan, about Travis Kelce. She immediately said he’s incredibly kind and really close to his mother. That’s when I knew he was someone special – it was exactly what I was hoping to hear!

Before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce get married, here’s a rundown of everything we’ve learned about their wedding plans so far…

It’s hard to imagine Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce having a wedding on a date that doesn’t hold special significance, especially for Taylor.

Taylor Swift, a self-proclaimed lover of numerology, shared her enthusiasm for numbers and dates on the August 13th episode of the New Heights podcast. Her two-hour interview coincided with an interesting numerical detail: it aired 13 days before she and Travis Kelce announced their engagement. However, Travis’s father mentioned they had actually told close friends and family about their relationship three days earlier. Swift described finding these kinds of patterns “really fun.”

Travis’s NFL future after his current contract ends in 2025 will also influence when they set their wedding date. If he continues playing, they’ll plan the wedding during the off-season, sometime between February, after the Super Bowl, and the start of training camp in July.

If Travis retires after 13 seasons – which feels strange to even say! – he’ll be able to get married, potentially in October, Taylor’s favorite month. The exact timing will depend on whether Taylor announces a tour for her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, which was released on October 3rd, and when that tour might be.

Taylor Swift is famous for her close circle of celebrity friends, but she revealed in October 2025 that she hadn’t started planning her bachelorette party yet.

She admitted that people might assume she’d always dreamed of her wedding, but she actually never gave it much thought until she met the person she wanted to marry. She shared this on the U.K.’s Heart Breakfast radio show.

“So, I haven’t actually even thought about doing a hen do,” she noted, invoking the British slang. “This is the first time I have thought about that.”

Plus, she added of her gal pals, “They’re so fun but they’re so busy.”

When Taylor picks out a white dress, it’s going to be one to remember.

Ignoring the cost of her clothes and jewelry, the singer’s style is comfortably stylish. She often wears classic pieces with a modern touch, favoring designers like Oscar de la Renta, Elie Saab, Louis Vuitton, Zuhair Murad, and J. Mendel – brands she’s loved for years.

After the wedding ceremony, where she’ll wear a beautiful gown, the tall bride—she’s 5’10″—plans to change into a more comfortable dress so she can dance all night.

We’re excited to see how she incorporates the traditional wedding elements – something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.

Even wedding dress expert Vera Wang anticipates Taylor Swift will wear several different outfits, and that at least one will feature lace.

Travis is also into fashion, and he’s excited to have some fun choosing his wedding suit – he’s open to anything!

He proposed while wearing shorts – it was a hot August day in Kansas! – which led to some jokes online about him wearing fancy shorts at the wedding too. But that would be a pretty unconventional choice, and he probably wants the focus to be on his partner and her dress, not on his outfit.

Although, if showing off his knees was important to him…

In a 2012 interview with Cosmopolitan, Taylor Swift clarified she hadn’t chosen a tuxedo for her future husband, adding, “I want him to feel like his presence truly matters.”

Taylor and Travis both deeply value family, so their parents and brothers are naturally key figures in the wedding plans. Jason Kelce, likely to be Travis’s best man, has two young daughters, Wyatt and Elliotte, who will probably be flower girls. His younger daughter, Bennett, might also participate depending on the wedding date. Sadly, the newest addition to the family, baby Finnley, will likely be too young to attend.

It will be interesting to see which of Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates are invited, but he was a groomsman at Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes’ wedding in 2022, so we know at least one teammate—and coach Andy Reid—will be there. Plus, he’s maintained a close group of friends from his high school days in Cleveland Heights, which means the bachelor party—likely filled with golf and drinks—is going to be a lot of fun.

Taylor’s childhood friend, Abigail Anderson, has been a constant presence in her life. Though Taylor’s group of friends has changed over time, Selena Gomez remains close, and Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are still part of her inner circle, despite reports of a falling out due to the actress’s legal issues.

And speaking of adorable additions to any wedding, it’s so sweet – Taylor is already a godmother! She’s a wonderful influence in Blake and Ryan’s daughters’ lives, and I think that really speaks to the close friendships these stars have. It makes me envision a really heartwarming dynamic if their daughters were to be flower girls!

Let’s be real, a lot of couples are opting for super personal weddings these days, and having a friend or family member get ordained to lead the ceremony is a really sweet and popular trend. While anything goes, I’m not expecting to see Flavor Flav up there as the officiant anytime soon, though you never know!

On the September 17th episode of New Heights, Travis shared his preference for live music, saying, “I think we’re just the kind of people who like bands.”

Ugh, we knew it, we’re so on the same page.

Even if the bride doesn’t perform, she has many talented friends who are great singers. We’re particularly hoping to see Haim take the stage!

But Taylor joked it “would be hard to keep” Ed Sheeran from performing at her wedding.

She explained in an October 2025 interview with Hits Radio that Ed Sheeran is a natural performer. She said, ‘If there’s a stage, Ed knows he’ll be on it.’ He understands what his audience enjoys and is dedicated to delivering that for them.

Taylor may love Travis so much she’d marry him with paper rings, but that won’t be the case.

If Travis continues to play sports, he might switch to a flexible wedding band, but for now, he’s set with the Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond he chose for his fiancée—created by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.

The ring has a long, central diamond with smaller diamonds on either side, all set in yellow gold that’s been specially engraved. It perfectly complements the $27,300 Cartier watch he used when he proposed.

Just how massive will this white veil occasion be?

Taylor Swift explained on The Graham Norton Show in October that she preferred not to deal with the pressure of deciding who to exclude from her guest list. She said making cuts would force her to consider the strength of her relationships with people.

And, she added, “I’m not gonna do that.”

Comedian Nikki Glaser, a self-proclaimed Taylor Swift fan, believes a large wedding is on the horizon. She told TopMob News at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, “Everything seems to be pointing that way.”

The comedian pointed out that because Taylor Swift is constantly in the spotlight—essentially treated like a bride every day—her wedding will probably be kept very private.

Nikki said she knows the person just wants to share the celebration with everyone they care about, as they have a large circle of friends and family. She jokingly predicted that someone will likely try to spoil the fun by taking pictures from a helicopter overhead.

Okay, so they drove off, all happy and newly married, but honestly? There’s no way Taylor wouldn’t start giving us glimpses of the wedding soon. Like, zero chance. She lives for sharing moments with us, and this is the biggest one! I’m already refreshing Instagram, seriously!
