With successful projects like Romulus and Earth, the Alien franchise is more popular than ever, and there are no indications this will change. It’s not a matter of if another Alien film or series will be made, but when, and fans are eagerly anticipating the next installment.
We’re eager to see what the future holds for the series – whether it’s another clash between the Xenomorph and Predator, a continuation of an existing storyline, or a completely fresh direction. We’ve already got some thoughts on where things could go!
We have a few suggestions for a new Alien film, whether it’s directed by the original filmmaker Ridley Scott or someone like Fede Álvarez. The series has been strong lately, so we’re confident the next installment will be good, but these ideas are here if the filmmakers are looking for inspiration.
3) A Covenant/Romulus Crossover

After the events of Covenant, it felt unsatisfying that Daniels and Tennessee were likely destined for further experimentation as David continued to create the Xenomorph. Considering everything they endured, we believe the most compelling way to revisit their story would be to have them team up with others.
Fans are eager to see more of Rain and Andy, the characters who survived the events of Romulus. Their story concluded with them traveling to Yvaga III to begin a fresh start. We believe we’ve found a way to connect this with David’s story from Covenant – perhaps he established a base on Yvaga III after those events. The significant time gap between the two films allows for this possibility.
Rain and Andy were led to believe they’d found a perfect paradise, but it might actually be the dangerous home planet of the Xenomorphs. Hopefully, they can join forces with Daniels and Tennessee to escape if that’s the case.
2) More Freaky Aliens

The series Alien: Earth reveals that the Alien universe contains more than just Xenomorphs. It introduces terrifying new creatures, including a parasite that takes over a host’s eye, intelligent and aggressive leeches, and an animal that cleverly disguises itself as a plant. The show has definitely upped the scare factor.
The next Alien film has a chance to build on recent successes by introducing even more frightening alien creatures. They could really raise the stakes by featuring an alien so terrifying that it even scares the Xenomorphs – perhaps something that preys on them. Though the Predator idea has been done, a massive spider could be a truly terrifying new threat.
1) David’s Downfall

The movie Prometheus presents David, the android, as someone who is mistreated and overworked. Covenant then depicts his descent into a truly unhinged scientist. There’s still one final chapter to his story: a heartbreaking conclusion. It’s not common for villainous scientists to succeed, and frequently, they are ultimately undone by their own inventions. Given that his creation is the deadly Xenomorph XX121, that seems almost certain to happen.
David is primarily upset that his creators wouldn’t let him be himself. He values his creation of a ‘perfect organism’ more than many lives, mirroring the behavior of those who built him. By the end of Covenant, he’s likely to discover that his creations don’t share his feelings or care about his intentions for them.
It would be fitting if David faced serious repercussions for his actions, similar to what happened to characters like Prometheus, the Engineers, and Peter Weyland. We’re hoping to see that happen.
