So, Kouji Okada, one of the guys who made Persona, just revealed the RPG he’s been hinting at! It’s a school-based game and Compile Heart is the team building it. I’m already hyped to see what they come up with!
The game Villion will be released in Japan on May 25th, according to Gematsu. While there’s no announcement yet for a release in Western countries, it’s likely to come eventually.
As mentioned before, the game’s characters are illustrated by Russian artist Ilya Kushinov. His unique and colorful style is noticeable in all the character designs.
The game’s story follows a familiar JRPG pattern: the world is facing destruction, monsters are everywhere, and a team of young heroes must rise up to save everyone.
I’m really excited about the characters – they’ve got a basketball player, someone who loves cosplay, and a total nerd! And the coolest part is that the fighting isn’t just you going it alone. It’s all about teamwork – you’ll be working with your partners to win every battle!
A key feature of the game is the Genome Arm, which allows each character to quickly change weapons during battle, letting players adapt their fighting style. Well-timed weapon swaps can also be used to deflect attacks.
The story and how you play don’t seem particularly original, but the game’s art style might be a big draw for people who have been eagerly anticipating the next Persona game.
