Joanna Lumley is set to make another travelogue for ITV, and filming is already underway.
The actress, celebrating her 80th birthday in May, is currently in Argentina filming her newest travel documentary with a film crew.
Joanna Lumley began her series of travel documentaries in 2010 with ‘Joanna Lumley’s Nile,’ and has since created 16 more shows following a similar format. These programs have taken her to destinations around the globe, including India, the Caribbean, Greece, and Japan.
In 2022, Joanna Lumley explored three iconic European cities – Berlin, Paris, and Rome – in her series, Great Cities of the World.
As a film buff, I really enjoyed Joanna Lumley’s Danube last year. It was a fantastic journey following the river from where it starts in the Black Forest, all the way to the Black Sea. She travelled through so many beautiful countries – Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania – and the scenery was just breathtaking. It really felt like a proper adventure!
Joanna Lumley, a Dame since being honored by the Queen in 2021, is embarking on her first South American travelogue, exploring Argentina.
I first discovered Lumley when I learned about her early days – she began as a model in the 1960s, and I was fascinated to read she actually worked with the brilliant designer Jean Muir! It’s amazing to think she then moved into acting just three years later, really launching a completely new chapter for herself.
While she first gained recognition as Purdey in the 1976 series The New Avengers, Joanna Lumley is best remembered for her role as Patsy in Absolutely Fabulous, alongside Jennifer Saunders’ Edina.
Absolutely Fabulous aired for five seasons between 1992 and 2012, earning widespread praise from critics. Throughout its run, the show welcomed many famous guest stars, such as Helena Bonham Carter, Elton John, and Naomi Campbell.
Joanna Lumley’s Argentina is set to air this spring.
