How LEGO’s SMART Brick Technology Actually Works
The SMART Brick is a rechargeable LEGO piece that brings your builds to life with built-in sensors and speakers. It can detect movement, tilting, and other nearby SMART Bricks. For example, when you move an X-Wing, it makes engine sounds, and pulling a lever triggers blaster effects. It adds interactivity to your LEGO creations without needing any extra gadgets – it’s like giving your LEGO Star Wars sets a boost of energy!
LEGO’s SMART Minifigures and Tags allow the brick to understand what’s happening in play. The Throne Room Duel & A-Wing set is the largest and most feature-packed option, costing $159.99. What sets it apart is that it includes two interactive ‘SMART Bricks’. This is the only set that allows you to activate multiple features at once. One brick brings the Emperor’s throne room to life with sounds and music when you move Palpatine’s chair or stage a lightsaber fight. The other brick is built into the A-Wing starfighter, providing audio responses to movement. Because each brick can recognize different minifigures and tags, players can enjoy multiple storylines at the same time.

Recreate the climactic battle of Return of the Jedi with this 347-piece AT-ST model! For $49.99, you can build the iconic walker from the Endor forest, complete with a Wicket the Ewok figure and special tags that bring the AT-ST and Speeder Bike to life with sounds.
The Luke’s Landspeeder LEGO set is a great value at just $39.99 and includes 215 pieces. It comes with Luke Skywalker, a Jawa, and a Gonk Droid minifigures. You can add a SMART Brick to bring the set to life with sounds of refueling and repairs.
